  1. In this day and age, FB is what most use but it does seem a bit cheesey for us that grew up with more hands on approach of advertising a business. Brick and mortar kind of thing.....but that is not how the world turns today.
  2. I still have all my toys. Legos, tonka trucks, erector set, lincoln logs, tinker toys. The last Legos I bought were the "expert builder" stuff in late 70s. I got the crane and farm tractor. They were big money in the day. Lots of moving parts and stuff. I found the write up about that R model. It was custom built and not a kit. This Technic kits are NOT cheap. Wowzers, $400-600! Cool none the less
  3. I don't know but sure seems a good old cb sure would have helped out in situations like that? "Hey there's a wreck, back it down". Instead, like typical, the whole world piles up on top of each other with no end in site. Tragic.
  4. It was 70+ last Wed, it was teens last night and had 1-2" of snow yesterday. Suppose to be 70 again this Wed. This is bullship.
  5. Even with spin on filters it will take quite a bit to get it to register oil pressure. Have good batteries and a charger. The hand plunger will draw fuel quickly if the check valves work. They may be stuck but that's a simple fix. I would suggest just using a bucket of fuel instead of dealing with fixing the tanks. Be sure the engine is healthy first. Just take the suction line and return line and stick in a 5 gal bucket of clean diesel. Pump the primer and go from there. I knew nothing about my truck when I bought it 20 yrs ago so you are not alone about having minimal knowledge starting out. Removing the side plate of the injection pump will allow you to see the plungers. Crank engine and see if they move up/ down. The 237 I bought for my truck had a couple sticky plungers at first. Little wd40 and a screwdriver worked them loose.
  6. Welcome to the forums. Surely we can assist you in getting it running. Checklist: Fuel in tank? Fuel lines in good shape? Transfer pump working? Filters good? Shut off cable/arm in correct position? Does hand pump have resistance when pumping? The overall system is simple once you understand the parts. Just need to track down where it isn't getting fuel.
  7. I heard Mike Harbison make a comment about a Vinny on facebook and how he was into snowmobiles. I assume it is the same Vinny?
  8. My 673, 4.64 triplex would get 9 bobtail. Around 8 with my 14k trailer. This is right up at 2100 rpm. I did have the pump rolled up a couple flats. I had it really up and got 4 mpg! Once fuel hit $4/gal about 10 yrs ago I moved it back to get better mileage again. My 237, 4.10 gets similar mileage pulling my trailer. Just doesn't slow down on the hills like the 673 did. I do run it at 1800 rpm at 65 mph.
  9. Ohio just passed no requirements for CCW. No schooling, no testing. That has many in an uproar. Here comes the wild west!
  10. Sorry I've never seen that one either. I don't like to get into political discussion because they always end badly. I don't discuss it with my friends that are liberals.
  11. Does it seem that the Left has such a hatred that most any wish a tragic death to a person. Remember that scrawny comedian bitch that had trumps head? Never once have you heard anyone from the right go to such extremes to wish death to a person. Is it just me?
  12. Yes, 4 round is ok. Its just the square lights that look out of proportion.
  13. You guys down under tend to run more lights for dealing with the vast open darkness you deal with traveling down yonder. The square lights just look out of place with all the round corners of vintage trucks. Four round ones are okay.
  14. Hopefully Mike Harbison sees this post. He should have anything you need.
  15. I'm not retired, yet ugh, but I have a health savings plan set up and it's growing to offset any cost of my deductible/ year.
  16. My 673p had the brass bypass tube just like that one so I'm familiar with it.
  17. 673P with a set of screw on filters like I did to mine. Did a 711 come with twin intakes like the 673P? I remember lots of trucks getting the 4 square light treatment way back. I suppose they wanted to make their old truck look "newer". To me it looks odd and needs a single round headlight....but that's just me.
  18. Hahaha...its like those memes where it states..."you read it wrong"!! I have to admit you had me saying it "crunch" like the cereal LOL. OD, we hired a sales secretary here at work a few years back. Here name was Anita, well the other girl in the office was Anita, so we said "how about your middle name?". Renee. Hmmm, that's the owners name......so we just called her "Number 2". Not in a crappy way either.....hahaha.
  19. My dad was a big railfan, had an HO scale layout(as I did). I guess that is where "Freightrain" came from. I wasn't into cars til college when I met new friends that happen to be in automotive class(I was in electronics). Still love trains, heck anything that makes noise and smokes for that matter.
  20. I get it. Still sucks. Back then I was driving my 67 f100 and only got 9 mpg with a good tailwind. I parked it and got an Escort from a buddy for cheap. Survived the next few years in it til it rotted away and found another pickup because fuel was reasonable again.
  21. Diesel is $4.79 here. My normal weekend runs are about an hr each way. Thats still about 12 gal x $5/gal=$60 each trip(avg 8 mpg). That will be double from last year. Trips farther will make it tough to go with the cost of fuel.
  22. We can all hope the hell not! My travel plans even for racing are going to be slim and none even at $5/gal diesel.
  23. Agree, you NEVER hear a single word from a Biden supporter about anything he does. Nadda, nutin. No praise, and certainly no bad mouthing. That would prove to all that they DID make a mistake and most liberals would never want to admit fault. I had to laugh this morning on the news they had a clip from Florida governor that was at a school and basically told the kids to take their masks off because it doesn't do a thing. LoL. He was very adamant about it!
  24. I watched 30 seconds late in the circus.... all I could handle. The constant standing ovationa were getting ridiculous. Ugh. Bla bla bla bla bla bla....
