  1. When I first started my 237 with no nose on the truck I used a piece of paper I had laying around. It stuck nicely and was not completely covering the whole radiator.
  2. Get it running and pull the hand throttle out to like 1000 rpm. Let it run for 1/2hr or so. Make sure the temp is up, block radiator if shutters don't work.
  3. So is it oil lubrication or fuel lubrication that controls that? Time for some fuel additive and let it run before parking it?
  4. Matt. Wow....what a career! To think I just have 36 yrs in one machine shop is just kinda dull reading your history. Thanks for your service.
  5. See.... I'd love to spice up my 237....just a bit....Lol. Find a tip turbine.....
  6. Older friend used to run a tandem R with 237/5 spd local asphalt. Never fast, but got the load there reliably. Diabetes finally took him out of the seat for good. Being a drag racer, I'd love to have "more" then my 237. But it gets the job done reliably.
  7. Mine was weak a few years back and wouldn't keep pressure under boost. I mounted a small pressure gauge to my air cleaner(tube running under the hood) to be able to monitor it running down the road. It would drop under full boost. A reman pump fixed that issue. I know some trucks have dash gauges but with a B dash there is no room for it. Talked with Ron when he was over for Ashland show. It'd been a few years since I have seen him also.
  8. I got one at Mack a few years back when mine got weak. Details are fuzzy now..... Long time no hear Morgan? How's things over Indiana way?
  9. Something like this??.....
  10. You can pull the cover off the injection pump and free up the rack. I had a couple plungers stuck on my 237 when I bought it. A screwdriver and some WD40 got them freed up.
  11. I always wondered if they didn't count a lock up converter as a "gear"? Or at least 1/2 gears? 1, 1 lock up, 2 , 2 lock up, etc.
  12. Agree, fhat is why it took awhile to find mine. The mounting plate and oil passages have to match and there are a few variations.
  13. The body was channeled to fit over the frame to make it sit lower if I recall. I saw it at Gerharts a few years back. There was a YouTube video from the guy that built it. I don't mind big bumpers, but agree that one is not cut right to fit. To each their own.
  14. Yes, been there. Do you have oil cooler? You have to find a spin on set up that matches what your motor has. When I did my 673, it didn't have an oil cooler or turbo and took a bit to come up with set up. If I recall mine came from an early R model with 711.
  15. Should have a big air tank that only feeds the starter with 1" air line. Does truck still have large hand valve inside to actuate the starter? It's a simple system to work on. I have air start on my B61.
  16. That post would likely not be hot until you turn on lights or turn signals.
  17. Is the wire on the switch hot? If not, then the 12v source wire is missing and the reason no brake lights. That's a simple fix.
  18. Ok, the turn signal switch sounds like a Signal Stat 900. Does it light up when you activate it? No? Then you need to trace wiring to find out why it doesn't have power. Mine had an inline fuse. Does yours? The brake light switch is typically behind the cab. If someone removing the air lines, they may have cut it out too? It is just a small object with two screws in the top for wires. You just have to start with the simple stuff and work through it.
  19. I've seen them like that. With a spread it really helps with turning radius. I think they hang the front axle because with the arch in the trailer the rear axle likely wouldn't be off fhe road very far and constantly touch the ground putting flat spots in the tires from skipping along.
  20. I see a lot of spread axle trailers with front axle chained up when empty.
  21. Ya, what is "motor spins"? The starter spins while on the bench? Starter spins while installed on motor? (Wrong bendix). Does nothing while installed on engine? Wiring or s/p switch issue.
  22. My first thought also.
  23. My B61 was tagged at 33K. 21K rear, 12K front.
  24. I'm sure that GVW would be a tandem, NOT a single axle.
