  1. Hmmm, neat idea Tom..........LOL! Hey Rob! LOL! Pinks was at Norwalk last summer, I did try to buy tickets, but the website was bogged down and I didn't get through. Come to find out, I could have drove to Norwalk(1 1/2hrs) and bought tickets at customer service on the day they were released as hardly anyone was at the track. Oh well. I've had friends run in it, it's "cool", but it is a pain as you're dealing with TV production.
  2. They have those warning signs around Ohio, but surely not enough of them. They have put a few new lights on the divided 4 lanes around here and you can tell by all the skid marks how bad of an idea they are. I learned along time ago to treat the green as red and start to slow as it will change, unless I saw it just change green and I'm really close. Sadly they put those lights up because a few 4wheelers couldn't cross the interection without getting creamed, now they add the problem of trucks not being able to stop(or just driving too fast and not driving safely enough).
  3. Well, the last race of the season was last Saturday at Thompson. I went into the race #1 in points(been all summer) and with any luck I would stay there. It was a long day, had to work pretty hard to keep my spot, but in the end I kept it. There were 3 other racers that could mathematically get past me if I went out early. It came down to #2 having the chance as I lost 3rd round. "IF" he made it to the final AND won, he would pass me by 2 points and take the championship. Well, he lost 4th round and that sealed my fate. Was a good day! Our banquet is in November where I'll be crowned along with winning my prized given by the sponsors. On the list: A set of M/T rims and tires (like the ones I won back in '06 and have on the car now)plus things from Mr. Gasket Corp, and many others. After a long day..... Running it hard.....
  4. Gotta agree. Likely just had to run the "pink" light and hit the horn for warning. Not to say I've done it, but..............ya, couple times I've had to cut one close. Don't like doing it, but taking that last 1/2 second to decide I'll let loose of the brakes and roll it instead of trying to slide it to a quick stop.
  5. You lucky Dawg! Neat find, for sure. Rust would have a hard time get'n thru the bird poop LMAO!!! Does look very original, hope momma don't cut them off fully.
  6. How's the bodywork coming? Haven't seen any updates on the roof work.
  7. I like it!! LOL!!
  8. $90........ouch. Sorry you had to deal with the idiots. Does your old hoses have replaceable ends on them? Sometimes you can unscrew them and reuse the ends, depending on the type you have. Then you just have to buy the hose. BTW, my shutters kinda stick when you first air up the truck. Sometimes have to go "smack" them get them to close, then they work fine the rest of the day. Seems there is a catch in the mechanism of the shutter that it gets caught on when fully opened with no air pressure. Once there is air, it doesn't get to that point anymore.
  9. That cylinder is very easy to dismantle. I pulled mine apart and cleaned the guts. The leather(?) packing was fairly nice still and to this day works fine.
  10. Well, the build has already gone along pretty well. The guy is pretty talented, here's his own website: http://joes.madmooseforum.com/index.php Look under "semi truck builds" and you'll see the post.
  11. Like mentioned, my lines were crudded up pretty bad as the shutters worked/then didn't. A coat hanger thru them finally got the crap out and worked fairly well. I've since replaced the lines.
  12. There is suppose to be a thermostat valve in the water manifold on the drivers side that allows the air to operate the shutters. Valve might be stuck? Does it get air to valve? Air on the other side when motor is cold? Air to shutters? Mine lines were also clogged with dried up crap and I finally replaced both and also cleaned out control. Works like a charm. I can get some pics tonight showing how it's all plumbed.
  13. Umm, no idea, no idea, and no idea. Never messed with the air govenor. Don't know anything about special lube for shutterstat. Mine picks up air from the firewall(can't recall what it picks off from memory), goes to thermostat control and then to shutters. No lube that I know it needs? I've had my shutter piston apart and cleaned all the old oil/gunk from the piston/seal. Works like a charm.
  14. The typical vent is in the center of the tank, under the cab, in the rear. Usually a coiled up piece of copper tubing. Mine has RB pump, but the throttle hooks to the rearend(if I recall?)as the govenor is on the back side. I have the manual throttle, but it's a twist/lock cable style. It hooks into the throttle linkage, and I do use it for long trips on the highway.
  15. 12' wide stalls will be tight, if you are going to have walls on each side? My B sits in a 12x24 stall and believe me....you're big ol belly won't fit around it. I have to suck it up and slip around sideways to get around the truck. The truck being roughly 8ft wide only gives you 2ft on each side to move. Not alot if you need to move parts around. For just parking, fine. Working on will be a pain. If you are just talking "lines on the floor stalls", then will not be a problem. A garage is NEVER big enough, period! I'd have to shuffle around to work on my stuff if it was in an AIRPORT hanger
  16. Congrats on the new project. Nice to see someone gave you the chance to fix it up. Glad to hear it's running/moving as that is a big step in restoration.
  17. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dang that's purdy sittin' there. I just got out from under the hood of mine just moments ago. Had some wiring issues last weekend and had to fix a few old bare wires. All new and ready to roll tomorrow.
  18. Welcome aboard. Great look'n H!
  19. The past owner of General Towing(where I got my B ) is now working for Adelmans since he sold the towing business. They have ACRES of trucks(all brands, all shapes, all sizes).
  20. Hey Jim............any progress on yours? We need pics!
  21. Happy B-day Speed! Hope it's a good one.
  22. Wow...I remember tha truck too. Stopped and saw it a few years back. Cool that they saved it, and did a great job at it.
  23. I wonder what the actual difference in the filters are? I know the aluminum clamp on my filter states use "xxx"(but it's faded to nothing). I need to dig up what I put in mine(it's a Napa part), as I still think it might not be the correct one. After 8 yrs..........guess it hasn't hurt much if it has been the wrong one.
  24. And those are TWO things that ol Rob DON'T need more of..........
  25. I'll be pullin the "big hill" Saturday coming home from QuakerCity. Wanna run'em???
