428..................well, it was just a 428. I put a 4.25 stroker crank in it a year back. It is now a 462ci 428. Made 625 hp in the dyno at 6500 rpm. I leave at 5500 rpm, shift at 6500. It has gone 10.8's @ 123 mph in the 1/4 mile. Car and driver is 4100#.

My guess is the power rating on the gear set itself does not lend to higher speeds. Has to be some reason the engineers don't want you to do it?

I hassled the track owner Saturday morning about the starting line being greasy. He smacked me into the arm and said "I saw you yesterday". We had TNT runs Friday night. Bob the owner is super nice and a diehard Ford guy too.

Ran over to Beaver Springs, PA again for the 2nd annual FE Reunion race. All FE powered vehicles. Took a much more "truck" friendly route this year. Weather held out for the racing part. Had a Brat and Beer get together Friday evening. Raced on Saturday. Hubert Platt, Bruce Larson and Dick Brannan were there to hang out and talk with. My truck came with 10:20 bias plys on it, but since they were pretty well toast I spent the money and put 6 new radials on it. The bias ply you could NOT turn the wheel if you were not moving. With radial, you can still turn the wheels sitting still. Not like power steering, but you can move them. I have Yokohomo's on, and only paid $250 each but that was 12 yrs ago!! Now they have near doubled. Now, not sure about mix/matching radial front/bias rear. I've heard the old tale how that is not a good thing. Never had to do it.

I've been curious, but since my 2000 Ford PSD had green in it(though you were to check PH levels), and the B came with green in it I've just let it be.

Well, ran it out to get some fuel in the tanks for next weekend and she runs along okay. I did notice my steering wheel is turned a bit more, and I have a hard time two handing since the spoke is now right at the bottom. Used to be off to the right side and you could slip your arm through. Now you can't. Gotta pull it off and rotate it out of the way. With that wore out rear pin, the spring pack must have moved back ever so slightly and now it is new/tight and moved back and that moved the wheel slighty. Gave her a bath and full lube job all around so it is road ready. Going to spend the day swapping vehicle around to get race car in the trailer and all prepped for first big race next week. Man..............I've been waiting 7 months for this!!!

I've always just run standard green car antifreeze mix in my truck. Used to sit out when I first got it(near 0* F) without issue.

Yup, since one thread is finer, it will move slower then the other end, in turn changing the length of the rod while you turn it. I found that out after putting new tie rod ends on my B a couple years ago. It really through me for a loop, til I figured it out. I pulled my shock/dampers off a couple years ago. I could move them, I know there is suppose to be some kind of fluid in them. I filled them with some motor oil and bolted them back on. I had one rod end fall apart one me and it bent the rod as it folded under the axle(ugh). I bought some heim ends and threaded rods and made new rods for both sides. I think the original bolts were 9/16", which you can't get a heim that size. I got 5/8" and just allowed a little slop. I suppose you could make a thin wall spacer or such but it has not made any difference.

I'm still wondering if it is an air line issue? Time to install a pressure guage, like right at one of the chambers(service side) and watch pressure. After releasing pedal, does it drop quick? No, then try back at the q/r valve. Does it drop quick there?

I guess I would start with seeing if the cams are free. Unhook or loosen slack adjuster and see if you can rotate by hand easily. If that is good, then I would start with air lines. Maybe one of the rubber lines has a flapper in it and slowing the release? Is there only one quick release for both axles? If two, check to see if both feel the same on the exhaust port. Is the one taking a touch longer to expel?

Welcome to the forums. First thing I think of is quick release valve. Do you hear it while standing in the rear and have someone push and release the brakes?

I propped it up with a 4x4 so I did not have to try to hold it up. No way that was happening!! Then I sat down on the floor and it was just "row row row your boat"....til I finally got it to go "CLICK". Ugh.

Randy Englehart is the fellow with the Emeryville. I've never seen the K100 either, so can't comment. He does run produce from Florida if I recall, so that reefer could be his? This past winter I was running Rt 90 over to Erie PA for work and passed Randy. I was surprised to see him running it in the salt. Got a quick shot in the mirror:

I also replaced the front pivot bushings. I have the bushing under the housing also, but could not get that apart so I left it. The front pivots were also toast so glad I got them out(was not that hard). I torched the old bushing out and installed new one using existing bolt and some lube. Pretty slick. I had it all blasted/clean/painted and easy before I did the stretch, but didn't do it. I waited til it was all together? I'm not too smart sometimes? There should be a tag on that crossbar with the actual part number/style. Yup, borrowed a buddys 4ft long 600ft/lb wrench and pulled them down. Ugh, that was rough.

I got them through my local Truck parts place. My pins were bad. I welded them up and ground them til the new bushings fit on snug. Look at the air gap with the new bushing!! I can try to dig into my receipts and see if I can come up with part numbers. I downloaded the Neway book online. Seems there were two flavors of this suspension> Does your bags sit flat/horizontal or on a angle? Mine were flat. I forget the part number for the style? Have to look tonight when I get home.
