We talking dump truck? Or just tractor? As a tractor, I don't think it would be as light as 13K. My B model is 12K+ . 18K sounds a touch heavy, so I'm somewhere in the middle at 14-15Klbs.

Transmitting power across a wider surface area(more cluster gears) is the reason for double/triple countershafts. If you can make the box longer and use wider gears(surface area), then the same basic function is accomplished. I don't think it is the shaft size persay that is the weak link. Just the capabilities of the gears to transmit the power and survive without breaking.

Looks like our show here in Ashland, Ohio is going to be wet also. Two days ago it was going to be sunny Fri/Sat/Sun. Now it is 60% rain. Ugh. At least we have lots of asphalt and good drainage.

The accessory drive(lower passenger side), on the top of the casting at the front of the motor will be END673-(and then engine code). Might take a flashlight to actually see it(or clean off the crud). About 3/8" tall stamped letters. Does it have a split intake manifold? or one piece?

Likely meaning it won't give any more fuel/pull after that point. Loosing top end speed because you can't use the last 200+ rpm.

Glad to hear it works good. I just got 7.0 mpg going to York(hills, hills, hills). I got 8.0 going to Milan, Michigan this past weekend. There is a 237 on local craigslist. Motor/trans/rad all for $1500. Just too much of a project right now to throw money at and just have it sit outside til I get around to it. Little things like roof, windows, AC, concrete and siding are taking priority(dangit).

If the morons would be looking FORWARD, they wouldn't run into stuff on the side of the road. Just a couple weeks ago there was a tow truck driver killed on Ohio Turnpike. Truck basically sideswiped him as he worked. As they were cleaning up, news reporter was doing an interview................another dumbass (gawker) rear ended a semi that had slowed down due to emergency lights(you know, that sign that says SLOW DOWN FOR LIGHTS). Like that is something that needs to be repeated to you while you drive??? Really? Maybe they need to have something come up on your phone so you can see it while you are texting and know you need to slow down/move over??? Ugh, don't get me started.

Been back in 2001? Four of us were going to West palm beach for a race. We left Ohio, but ended up below Fancy Gap before we found a place to park for the night(like 2am). By sunset all the rest areas were full and just nothing could be found for four truck/trailers. We just kept going til we ended up at a mall parking lot. Parking on the highway would be bad, but up on top of a ramp is not that much of a deal(at least in my eyes). Better then falling asleep and taking out a bunch of cars? They will just state you need better time management. Ya, okay.
