  1. That western R is as good as it gets. Thanks for going the extra mile to get them posted on here.
  2. That was nice of the hardware store to let you use their dock. As Tom said, everyone has to cover their butt these days. Sad. I live in one of those towns where nothing is level. It has it's ups and downs (pun intended). I like the view from my porch, but as a native Long Islander, I'm a flat-lander at heart.
  3. Beautiful! Always good to hear the Star Spangled Banner sung as it was intended to be. Too many "artists" trying to make it their own by changing the tempo, etc. And another thing that pisses me off.... adding the word "and' to the second line before the last. It's "O'er the land of the free", NOT "O'er the land and of the free". It's the National Anthem, learn the words if you want to sing it.
  4. I wasn't broke down, I was in the back with a couple of Winfall wimmin. They said they needed their straps and chains tightened so I MADE time!
  5. Or, as the eBay ad would read: "Running when parked 76 years ago".
  6. That's a lot of our money being spent simply because a group of people will not take it upon themselves to address their own weight problems. The faucet should have been turned off at that point.
  7. I feel better hearing that you weren't experiencing anything unusual that day.
  8. "We take trucking to a new Dynamic"
  9. I hope to make a trip to Johnstown as a tourist this fall. Been there many times, always in the big truck. BTW, I saw you climbing the hill behind me. I was going to pull over and finally meet you, treat you to dinner, wash your truck, tighten your straps/chains, and give you a large sum of money as a random act of kindness but I didn't have time.
  10. I like the restomod on the roll back. It's functional as a daily driver and the body is mostly original. I'd probably change the steering wheel, though.
  11. The most obvious cause for this would be a leak in the system. Can you hear any leaks with the engine off? If not you might need to find someone to work the brake pedal while you check around/under the truck. If it is a leak, it should be easy to find with such a large drop in pressure.
  12. Screw the purists. If you have the time, resources, and most importantly the desire to keep it original than so be it. if not well, to each his own. You worked hard the the finished product looks great!
  13. Nice Find but be careful or you'll put your eye out!
  14. Ms. Janowski has the right idea, that is of course, until the gov't steps in and tells her she has to employ a minimum number of people as a condition of operating a business in NYC/NYS. I'm sure there are some good, hardworking people who find working as a clerk in a fast food restaurant the best option for employment in their personal situations, but those are in the minority. I have no sympathy for the rest who are just too lazy to do anything else. I certainly will not be paying a premium to eat at a fast food restaurant that had to raise prices to cover the cost of this nonsense.
  15. More detailed info than you'll ever get from CarFax.
  16. Happy Birthday! If cake girl is not your type, just put a bag over her head. A very, very large bag.
  17. That's one of the positives of driving for a living. There are plenty of opportunities available to suit a wide range of individual wants and needs.
  18. If it's run locally, I doubt the savings are worth the impact those add-ons have on the appearance.
  19. Not quite a fair comparison, Paul. Back then we were a great country. Nowadays we just talk about being one.
  20. These drivers sum it up pretty well. My employer began installing the Wingman system, sans the "Blindspotter" feature on all tractors in 2014. It tends to "overreact" but any delay would reduce it's effectiveness, it's just a matter of becoming accustomed to it. The city drivers have it worse as the alarm is present for most of the day. We learned at a recent safety meeting that these systems are becoming mandatory in 2017 if I'm not mistaken. I haven't yet researched that.
  21. A two week wonder will forget everything they learned in the first 13 days. However, given the length of the program, a two hour terror is likely to remember everything.
  22. Happy Birthday, Sleepwalker! For your birthday, I contacted Vanna White and bought you some vowels.
  23. The Brockways were probably outnumbered by a 50-to-1 margin, but I do remember one from the area. There was a landscape supply company on Rt 112, north of Horse Block Rd in Medford, that had a 73-75 blue and white cabover.
  24. I thought I was going to be the odd man out when I saw the title. I still haven't embraced the idea of a $50,000 pickup, and it appears I'm not alone.
  25. Always refreshing to see someone that young take a serious interest in what's going with US politics these days, take the initiative to do the research, and calls BS when then see it. This is the Odds and Ends forum and is here for those of us who wish to discuss topics not related to trucks or trucking.
