  1. Beautiful truck! What is your rear axle ratio? 13 double over and 24.5 rubber is already making my head spin.
  2. I guess there is no incentive to build a quality product if you don't have to stand behind it.
  3. It is much harder for someone who has driven a sychro'd manual to learn than it is for someone who has never driven a manual. Nothing to "unlearn".
  4. I see now that the hood latch is in fact attached to the fender (not the side of the hood) making it a 600. Thank heavens the caption is incorrect.
  5. Excellent, the job couldn't have gone to a more suitable candidate. I must warn you however. It's in your system now, there's no turning back. Good to hear that the 4H club is still alive and doing well.
  6. Irwin is about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh. I used to deliver to them in 1998-99. They still had B models and Autocars in the fleet, nothing new.
  7. Excellent, thanks for posting! HOWEVER, the caption under what appears to be one of the gold "Maxidyne 300" promotional tractors says it's a Western with a Detroit Diesel. I belive that is an R-700 hood latch in the photo. I guess we can let that slide considering how awesome the fleet is and how much time has passed.
  8. It was real, he was active for 2 days. I still suggest not eating cheese before bedtime, however. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/user/8719-thumper2/
  9. Why are straps not allowed to be "over" the rub rail? I always thought it was DOT being anal about the width.
  10. Sounds great. Have you tried double-clutching? That would have helped with those single-stick shifts in the beginning of the video.
  11. It's amazing what one can do with a point-n-shoot these days. The close-ups look great and I can't even see the house and tranformers in the wide shot. The goats look great, too.
  12. "Ramble On!"-Robert Plant 1969
  13. And dropping buzzards? Oh the humanity!
  14. Glen liked my comment above. Are we being punk'd?

    Guess

Yep. Just change those uniform pants to sweatpants and throw him the keys.
  16. For some reason Brooklyn and Queens, being part of NYC, have never been considered to be on Long Island. Geographically speaking (if I may) they are without a doubt on Long Island.
  17. My bad. I didn't see that you covered that already.
  18. I also recommend using the plate on top of the dash. An alternative to the strap is to simply Velcro the radio directly to the plate. I've done that in the past when the strap had gone MIA and it worked great, even looked a little cleaner. Mack's "reverse" visors also make for an excellent location to hang a mic-keeper or bungee if you choose. The mic is within reach without really blocking the view. You may want to consider just routing the coax through the passenger door and tucking it behind trim/weatherstripping etc. I'm a fanatic when it comes to a clean installation and with 18' of coax in a CH I drove years ago about 3" total of it was visible. Routing through the door will flatten it a bit but after doing it for several years on several trucks, I've never had a coax fail at that point. You want to replace your coax every so often any way. I usually replace it every year or so but opinions on that vary. Either way, replacement is a lot easier when your not routed through the mirror arm.
  19. That's a short wheelbase even for a daycab. So this was the inspiration for that "Give me 40 acres to turn this rig around" song?
  20. I live in a town of 5000 and 5pm sucks.
  21. I feel obligated to side with the human, but the goat brought up some very valid points.
  22. As good as he is I don't think I'd be standing that close, let alone directly in front of him. After all, he's still a 5 year old and if he screws up were not talking about spilled glass of milk.
  23. The father has got to be one sick puppy.
  24. Good observation. This truck was built before the tip turbine was introduced. The purpose of the twin intake is to allow the driver to choose between hot or cold air entering the engine. Only one pipe is used at a time.
  25. It sounded great, interior cleaned up nice too.
