  2. Any production numbers on these promotional units? I've seen 1 F model and maybe 3-4 R models. There was an O/O on Long Island that had an R-600 leased to Island Transportation pulling a fuel tanker. The first R model I saw was pulling for Quinn Truck Lines (not the northeast freight hauler) out of Ontario, Canada and I am almost certain it was an R-700.
  3. That's exactly how I pictured the city of Pisa, complete with english street signs and a Costco.
  4. As members of BMT, we're supposed to be encouraging the use of Mack trucks in applications On second thought, lets leave that one to brand x.
  5. Beautiful truck! Good luck with it.
  6. And many a modern day steering wheel have lost to wedding bands. Kinda symbolic if you ask me.
  7. Mercury was the leading brand back then. It's interesting that the U model sleeper was based in Canada. Years ago when you saw a short hood city tractor with a sleeper there was about a 90% chance it was from north of the border. At least that's how it was in the northeast.
  8. That blue R model is nice. I actually feel bad for you. You've been deprived.
  9. So that's Tom Mcilrath. It's good to put a face with the name. He has certainly done more than his share to keep the Mack legacy alive.
  10. I was going to show them a Midliner, but that's probably not a good idea now.
  11. A real Mack dealer with Mack memorabilia and no evidence of Volvo. They're getting hard to find.
  12. The photographer probably had no clue that has was doing a great service to Mack fans when he/she took that picture.
  13. I'm literally speechless. There is so much more to that picture than trucks and a building. It's why we're here on BMT. Now I'm getting verklempt.
  14. More from the same source: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/mack/
  15. Yeah, that works. What is the factory engine on an R770, an 8V92?
  16. Here's an interior shot from a brochure. The back wall was extended as a simple way to accomodate a larger mattress.
  17. My baby booties were larger than your boots.
  18. I'll give it a shot: Ben, Tim, ?, Barry, Ken (Farmer52), ?, and ? is holding?
  19. When you say "extension" on the cabs, are you referring to the area where the sleeper depth was increased? That became standard issue in......I don't know when.
  20. I think the name "Big Mack Trucks!" is a bit conspicuous. We should change it to "Smart Car Enthusiasts". That'll scare them off.
