beautiful truck-i have one that came out of washington state-we have updated it some-used to have a little sign said   jacks truck- he was equally proud of it in his day-never met the fella-got the truck out of florida-they had put enough weight on it to have broke the left frame rail under the cab     dont believe they were crossin the scales

so true, but back in those days drivers knew their trucks, did not overdrive their brakes, and weight cops tended to leave loggers on log roads alone

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

I haven't played with it yet but I think the 2 speed might be an underdrive. I'll have to shift it and see what happens next time I drive it.

Some of the logging roads in the Olympic Mountains were quite steep and the original engine wasn't much over 200hp (215, maybe?). He added a turbo a few years after he bought the truck then it stayed like that until the 400 went in about a year before he retired. The Alcoa wheels were also added quite late.
