The Mack Granite bumpers look cheap and the horizontal chrome grills need to be brought back. The Frontier and Anthem grills look like oven heating elements. So disappointing! Tell me more, didn't know that! Somewhere I have a copy of the 4th. quarter 1977 'Bulldog' covering the Superliner intro.. Seems to me that Brockways had the same problem the RS/RL 700's had with regards to the low hood, so Brockway having a hand in the Superliner is not a surprise. Add some horizontal chrome bars and we are all set. Solid powerplant (Cummins B6.7, Allison automatic), easy to work on (actual exterior hood latches, headlamps are sealed beam, Cummins used more than one brain cell when designing the motor, etc), and it exists in a market where getting your CDL is expensive and tedious. Most of the MD's I've seen do not require a CDL to drive as the GVWR is below 26,000lbs. They have great power and are very easy to drive, which surprised me when I drove one.
