That pump is a Vickers. I would think parts for it are still available or a suitable replacement is.   The control valve ?  That might be a problem. Are you sure it's a Ross valve ?  The cylinder ?  would seem a good hydralic place could do something with that.  Wouldn't surprise me if a different make control valve would interchange with your's. Reservoir, a newer Nelson wouldn't be a very dificult swap.

It says Ross on the cylinder.I have the original paperwork for the truck and it says nothing about the power steering.

I found in the paperwork that it has a Ross Hydraulic system for the power steering.

It looks like a power assist system on it. The pump is a Vickers.  That just supplies the system with pressurized  oil. The valve in the picture is the control valve, then I'm assuming it has a cylinder attached to the tie rod underneath it.  What are you trying to repair on it ?

I’ve been told recently vickers  parts are very available

Harry’s,that the exact as what I have. What I need is the threaded nut on the end,it has bad threads.I can use it but would like to have a better one.

I don't know where you would find that part unless someone had a used one. Maybe a machine shop could chase the threads if you can't find one.

I don’t know about highly skilled,I grow up around Mack’s and heavy equipment. We had some of the best mechanics around,it was hard not to learn something.Yes both of you are correct with the mechanics today just want to replace the broken let alone why it broke. We had this one old timer that no matter what he was doing he always had the service manual out on the back of the truck.

I will open a book in a second.. No pride lost.. Even on the engines and such that I built a bunch of, if I have a brain fart, or just pause and question myself, out comes the book..
