When I did the ENDT 673, i welded beads in the liners, and dressed the 2 dogs with a bastard file, (they had already pulled a couple dozen liners by this point). There are 2 different sets of dogs. So you can check each one to see which one wont score the counter bore. I have also added a shaved washer behind the dogs to get a stronger bite that doesnt allow the tool to pop off the edge of the liner. When welding beads, i suggest opposing vertical welds with spacing between them that is wider then the legs on the puller. NO ;rotate to put crank journal at lowest point. bottom plate was slotted on threaded rod. slanted going in liner leveled out at bottom. covered most of liner bottom. adjustable three legged top. didn't get involved with Mack wet liners.only stand out was the experimental 866 in the FL700. started at Baskin with the DD 8v's , wet liners were the thing. didn't understand how a small o-ring did the job! My Mentor Earl made sure I understood why procedures mattered.. Ok... I had that truck almost lifted before the liners started to move with that method😅! in this case it obviously won't be helpful!
