Nothing bolts to that stand other than muffler, plastic fender piece, and the cab jack pump. Mack wanted about $650 for the stand, but I think we got it straight enough... (worn from use, not collision) I'm also chasing an ABS code that is bugging me. Right steer abs cable ripped so I put a new sensor in, but still have a code. Hydraulics and electronics all functional, but we need to disassemble and clean out the cement metering augers as some humidity got in and hardened enough cement to cause problems. We had the driver empty out the main hopper of the cement bin back in November, but without being able to run the hydraulics back in the Fall we couldn't empty out the metering augers. 4 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Only complaint I have is it has a stumble in the idle, most noticable when it's in gear at a stop. JoeH Posted May 1 Author Share Posted May 1 Truck is at the dealership getting the go-over and so far with the stumble all they've found is a failing valve rotator, which yielded some small bits in the oil pan and an out of adjustment valve. Cam checks out ok, they don't suspect eup's as there's no knocking sound from the eup "jumping" off the lobe. Cam also looks great from underneath, and they measured the cam lobe heights with dial indicator on the valve stems. They'll put 2 reman cylinder heads on it, plus whatever peripheral junk goes along with that. It's gonna cost an arm and a leg, but I have no doubts regarding their competence, and it's gonna be done a whole lot faster than doing it ourselves. What started out as replacing the heads turned into finding 3 bad EUPs, 2 bad EUP rollers, and one bad injector nozzle. I haven't heard the truck running in person yet, but dealer shop foreman says they finally got it straightened out. When they replaced the heads it still had the miss, so they did a cylinder cutout test and found 2 weak EUPs. One was failing in the solenoid, the other the spring was broken into 5 pieces. I picked up 2 aftermarket reman Bosch EUPs from Metro Fuel Injection im Allentown, dropped those off and told the foreman to pull the rest of the EUPs to inspect. That's how they found the 3rd bad EUP and the 2 bad followers. One follower has a chip out of the top of the cup, the other follower the roller's axle slid and the roller cocked a little bit. They had to weld a long stud on the one follower as a handle to get it out. Back to Metro for another EUP and 2 followers. Got all that in, still had a miss on #3, they swapped EUPs, miss stayed on #3, so they wanted to replace that nozzle. New nozzle and it's running good now. I think we can all agree I got lucky the camshaft survived. For now. Now they're just chasing ABS codes it didn't have before the rollover.
