Yes indeed, thanks for the idea. It certainly can't hurt, and it still hasn't creaked, moaned, groaned, or swayed since I tightened the original screws.

Well, I can’t see the smokestack from the driver seat, but it was definitely nothing coming out of the feed line before I started to change the lines. I wind up blowing air into the fuel tank and then breaking it loose right at the pump until it starts running out after the new lines waited a week and it still would not start, but I shut ether in it and that did it but clearly it’s still losing somewhere and the plunger leaks so bad that I don’t think it will work at all once I unwind the wingnut and pull it out. It’s just dripping with fuel.

Well the first go around change 3 front hoses that were noticeable leaking thought that would cover it… but really didn’t change anything … thanks for that Paul …. Right now I got too many projects ahead of it … but for now, I will continue to start it every Friday whatever I gotta do to get it going … bob

does it have one tank or two ? did you check the 1/4 copper vent line ??? insects like the line to build nest . extremum caution when airing up a tank, , pistons don't like either.

I’m looking into changing the entire hand pump valve apparently an outfit in Alabama has them … wood line truck parts … still haven’t looked into my heater switch on the pickup started investigating that thing and never finished  yes I’m changing the subject 2006 F150 heater switches took a shit no longer available. Apparently a company in Palm Beach rebuild them. They want $580 to rebuild mine.

have you considered just removing the hand pump ; replace with the cap . new brass washer and proper cap will also eliminate the question of loosing prime. hand pump not a needed option. fortunately I don't get involved with purchases much any more, prices I hear for things unbelievable. 580 for switch rebuild??? 

 

Well I understand there’s a check valve in it and this outfit wants 103 bucks for the whole thing and yes these day truck parts are crazy expensive .and I had it going yesterday and seems white smoke returned uuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrr I swear every step I take on that thing I walk back 3.. I was also looking over the nose yesterday trying to figure out my next best move on the worst part of it … also in the middle of redoing my kitchen cabinets
