Runs, then quits

What part of the world are you from

The reason I ask is because when diesel is used in the more tropical parts of the world it grows a moldy slimy residue in the wet season

There are different fuels to prevent this

Maybe something to look at

I wanted to wrap this up. Turns out there was about an inch of nasty sludge and peeling tank liner inside my passenger tank (the one that the engine sucks from). I pulled the 2 drain holes and flushed with 10 gal of diesel. I realized that this was gonna get expensive and switch to the pressure washer. After 2 thorough washes at 2200 psi, I let the tank dry for 2 days then added diesel. For the last 2 weeks it has been running great! Pulls 29lb of boost, doesn't spitter when under a load, starts up every time. I have the driver's side tank shut off and suspect that there is an inch of crud in that one too. Maybe Sunday I will start the draining and pressure washing routine on that tank.

I don't think this was from a 1 time fill up, just built up over the years.

yup thanx for following up with the fix !

I'm in the high desert of Wyoming. I'm not saying mold can't grow here, just unlikely.  I treat my bulk fuel with biobor to prevent algae, when I buy it at the pump I don't use any additives.

Glad you found the problem. Is this truck a recent acquisition? Or something you've owned a long time that tends to sit? If it's a recent acquisition then it sounds like previous owner was a bit careless with his fuel. Wouldn't be a bad idea to change all the fluids just to be safe.
