  1. I still have this and don't want to scrap it out just yet. I get it that transportation is the issue. If interested, let me know, sometimes a transportation issue will present a solution.
  2. I've had it for 10 years or so. I do need to change the diff oil. Guessing synthetic is ok in these top loaders
  3. I'm in the high desert of Wyoming. I'm not saying mold can't grow here, just unlikely. I treat my bulk fuel with biobor to prevent algae, when I buy it at the pump I don't use any additives.
  4. I wanted to wrap this up. Turns out there was about an inch of nasty sludge and peeling tank liner inside my passenger tank (the one that the engine sucks from). I pulled the 2 drain holes and flushed with 10 gal of diesel. I realized that this was gonna get expensive and switch to the pressure washer. After 2 thorough washes at 2200 psi, I let the tank dry for 2 days then added diesel. For the last 2 weeks it has been running great! Pulls 29lb of boost, doesn't spitter when under a load, starts up every time. I have the driver's side tank shut off and suspect that there is an inch of crud in that one too. Maybe Sunday I will start the draining and pressure washing routine on that tank. I don't think this was from a 1 time fill up, just built up over the years.
  5. 40 miles N of Cody WY, 3 miles S of MT line
  6. I finally got the loader, excavator and dozer running good all at the same time - and the dump truck is holding up the new driveway. Last pic is the new driveway I'm cutting in.
  7. Got the load dumped by driving 200' at a time. After a longer cool down and it being empty, I would get 400' before it slowing dies. A buddy pulled me with my F-350 in the low range 3.5 miles to my driveway. Twice I started it to help him up the steep part of hills. My driveway is a steep grade (26%) and starts at the bottom of another hill. I started the truck, quickly rolled down the hill, turned into my drive faster than normal and made it 1/4 of the way up it. Went and got the D5 (the Ford wasn't gonna pull it up my drive) and started pulling on it. 3/4 of the way up it gets real steep and I started the Mack to help out. Went up, turned it around, parked it in a spot that is easy to work on and let it run (it hadn't quit). It idles for 45 minutes then I shut it off. I am now convinced that there is something in the fuel tank that is getting sucked into the up pipe. The combination of a steep angle and bouncing around while turning into the driveway loosened it up and got it out of the way - until next time. Winter is back today with 3"-6" in the forecast (I SUPPORT Global Warming!!!) so I don't know when I will be able to drain and clean both tanks. I think the problem is in the passenger side tank as that is the only one that the engine pulls from. Starting Sunday I am on the road until May 5th.
  8. Can this be a heat thing? Seems that when the engine is up to temp, the wait between cranks that start it, is longer.
  9. Went back to the original fuel pump - no change. Checked all fuel hose fittings - no change. Loosened fuel caps and it idled for 10 minutes! Took it for a test drive with the caps off and back to square one. I am driving 200' at a time. Wait 5 minutes, crank a lot, drive 200' more. I gotta get this load off, no way my F 350 can pull me loaded.
  10. Electric pump. I'm gonna check everything I did - if winter ever goes away!!
  11. 2 tanks. I replaced the supply lines because it was over due. After the lines and pump, it ran fine for 4-5000 miles. It couldn't make it up my driveway (26% grade) w/o stalling. 3 sets of fuel filters since then. I felt around the filter base but did not visually check for o-ring remnants. I will check vents. Don't think it is a sucking fuel line - if so, wouldn't it have shown up earlier?? All I can get is 30 seconds out of it (2minutes at idle). Bosch pump, no manual hand primer.
  12. '91 EM7 starts after a bit of cranking, runs for 2 minutes at idle or 30 seconds if moving, then dies. It seems like it is running out of fuel. If I wait for 10 minutes I get to crank a bit on it, drive it for 30 seconds then it quits again. New supply lines and fuel pump last year. New filters when it started acting up. The return lines were not replaced and I still have the old fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump, just because I was there doing the lines. I'll put the old pump back on, but after that, I'm lost as to what to do next.
  13. I called and spoke to the local Mack dealer. As expected, they are clueless unless it was made after Volvo. Try posting in the Transmission section, I'm sure somebody here can tell you the difference. https://www.bigmacktrucks.com/forum/6-engine-and-transmission/
  14. What is the key to decoding the number and letter designations for engines, trans and rears? Difference between T-1070 and TRTXL 1070 ?????????? Difference between EM6 300 4V and EM7 300 4v???? ... ?
  15. I can't compare it to the other ones you listed, as this is the only Mack trans I have experience with. You are correct in that it shifts like a Super10, with an additional 2 deep reduction gears. It also has 6 reverse gears and a Neutral position on the shifter(that is what got me in trouble with it). I haven't pulled the dash air switch (for the deep reduction) yet, but it goes with it. It is a .73 or .78 OD and runs out at about 70mph with 4.42 gears and 11R22.5s Text first as I don't answer calls that I don't recognize (or leave a message and I'll call back). 303 two04 three 28two
  16. Do you run up toward Philly anytime??
  17. I found a rebuilder in FL but nothing in MI. If you come up with a name or number - let me know. I'll trade for a good rifle or handgun!
  18. I count 12 bolts in a circular pattern.
  19. I will be driving from Cody WY to the Ozarks in Dec. Possible delivery along my route. My brother may be traveling from Cody to Baltimore in Oct. He might also fly, so this isn't 100%.
  20. What about a 12 that needs work?
  21. Selling this trans. It has issues! Check this post to see if you want to tackle the issue. Otherwise it ran fine until I goofed it up. It has 239K miles on it. It is complete minus the stick (but I have the shifter knob/switches). I have no idea on the value - throw me an offer. It is located in Powell, WY and I can ship from Billings, MT 59101.
  22. Finally got this out and am willing to sell it. No PTO on it (my pump is driven off of the crank). I have no idea of it's value in this condition. 240K miles on it before I broke it. I'm in 82435, but can ship from 59101 too.
  23. Crescent Ridge shop in PA, provided my mechanic with a parts list needed. We'll see how it works out soon enough.
