BOBWhite Posted May 22 Share Posted May 22 I think the Cummins ISL is an 8.3 with common rail and a longer stroke. I've ran a IH 1688 combine with the old mechanical 8.3 and a newer 2588 with a common rail Cummins. Both of them have had water pump failures and the common rail Cummins uses quite a bit more fuel.
