Saw this article this morning.  At the moment, it doesn't seem very contentious.

If it got nasty, hopefully don't have a flashback to when Brockway Truck struck against parent Mack...

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Well that will help sales a lot. Sure that Sanders, Warren and Biden and Beto will go there with their UAW pins to add support to the poorly paid slaves like they say the GM workers are.

UAW higher leadership is very rotten and it is easy to call for a strike to take focus off them for now. Look at what is happening at UAW GM strike now. I could see Volvo moving Mack, if they keep it around, some where else. Careful what they wish for.

At this time of the year, with Mack brand sales slowing, Volvo will consider the strike a blessing in disguise.

When you observe the late model tractors on U.S. highways, Freightliner accounts for 40-45 percent, Paccar (Kenworth and Peterbilt) 40-45 percent, Navistar International 5-10 percent, Volvo 3-6 percent, Mack 2-5 percent and Western Star 1 percent.

I have been making a mental note of the new brands on the road in relation to new Macks. Seems about right but noticing more and more Volvos even as vocational trucks. Very few Anthems. Shame

Let's see.  Mack buys Brockway, both compete for similar market share.  Brockway union  says.. "screw you', we want more".  Mack says-...."Nah, think will just close the operation down".  Hope the Swedes haven't been reading any history books.

And do you think the union leadership is noting the continued number of fleets that are downsizing?   You would think they would be in tune with the fact that this is probably not the right time to be banging on the table.
