Technoklassika show in Essen, Germany

Hi to all,

I don't know if anybody noticed me being scarce recently or not but I was generally off the 'puter for the last two weeks indeed.

A friend of mine offered me to make a trip to Europe to shake up the brains after the long winter months and I accepted the entertainment.

We started from Moscow, crossed Belorussia, Poland and entered Germany setteling down in the city of Essen.

There was the largest European classic car show demostrating the top-quality resto shops, classic car clubs, vehicles for sale, flea market  e t.c. As usual.

I've done the bunch of pictures and supposed it would be interesting to our members to put an eye on them. So here we go.

There were not many American vehicles and about nothing of trucks. With at least one exception wich worth to be seen on my mind.

The exception I noted was the GM Futureliner. I was surprized to see it personally and didn't miss the chance to talk with the owner on what that beast was and wat it was made for. He explained me that only 7 survivers are currently exist and 2 of them are in Europe including the one at the show. I should admit the thing was impressive.

The most of my attention was payed to Mercedes and Jag cars. Two reasons - I like them and found no Macks to drool over instead of.

Jaguars XKE.

Some British company reproduced the most of the outside panels for XKE so you can build about a new body for that type of car.

Sorry to making you upset looking the pictures.

Here's the last bunch.

The red VW concept car seemed attractive to me. I haven't learned any details about it though.

Great pics Vlad, looks like you had a great trip. I really want to drive one of those futureliners. Think it would be really fun sitting up so high with the giant window to look out of.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

The white car in the last photo is a V8 powered Glas 3000GT rebadged as a BMW after they purchased Glas in 1966.  Glas had several patents and designs that BMW sought to capitalize on.

That makes sence.

I remember a long while back I read an article of how BMW bought some small European firm and continued producing its cars.

But later I have never met any traces of that story. Haven't rifle through that though.

Thank you for clearing me up.
