  1. I got mine from a gentleman on this board who was parting out a cab. We have a 77 R that has had a visor on it since 77. It blew off this past summer but all the holes underneath were rotted out. When I installed mine I drilled pilot holes, filled them with red silicone and then installed the screws and caps. My truck doesn't do much long highway stuff so I think it'll be okay.
  2. Thanks. I haven't been doing much highway stuff with the truck so maybe I'll put it on while work is a little slow and then maybe make a bracket for it at a later date.
  3. I finally found a fiberglass cab visor for my truck but I've noticed that some trucks have a little metal brace under the center of the visor that bolts to the cab right above the drip rail. My visor doesn't have that piece. If I install the visor anyway, what are the chances that the thing will rip right off the cab without that center brace?
  4. I just replaced an "A" on a hood and I pushed the letter in, installed the nuts and then loaded the back side with silicone so it won't fall out again.
  5. Would this truck have had a 7 speed in it with a lo-lo stick? Two low gears and 5 direct gears? Didn't get to mess with it yesterday and I had to take off today to get some teeth yanked out.
  6. I saw a few of them cruising down broad street last winter while I was at my girlfriends house. Couldn't get the phone out in time
  7. BRN popped up when ABC got all that work on the Walsh contract. I think they're definitely related. I also saw the old steel nose DM on Friday I think. BRN has two blue R models that have seen better days. Hope the steel nose doesn't go that way. The other company you're thinking of is Sundowner. They have an R and an RD I believe.
  8. I'm home for the day. If I'm not busy tomorrow I'll see if I can snap a pic of underneath. I only got in it to take it over to the pressure washer. I've kind of "adopted" it and I'm trying to clean it up real nice. Hate seeing our old stuff get neglected.
  9. This is in a 77 Canadian R612. Shift pattern seems to be the standard H with the dog leg over and back towards your leg. Has R N L D on the air shifter. Also has a small lever next to the main box and I can't figure out what it's for. Doesn't even seem like it moves. Can't find a shift pattern sticker in it. Anyone venture to guess what the shift pattern is?
  10. Always baffles me when this happens. My truck has a clutch engaged PTO with a bright red light and another flashing amber light when the body is up. The truck also sways like an oak tree when the body is up. I dunno how you couldn't feel it or at least see sunlight coming through the back window.
  11. I technically already have the lights. They're on a wrecked truck that we use for parts. I don't want to take the project on if it's going to be too much of a headache. I thought I'd get lucky and not have to drill any holes to fit the torpedo lights.
  12. I figured that, I was just hoping the mounting holes were in the same spot
  13. Everything on the roof of my truck has a nice fat bead of silicone smeared around it lol.
  14. My work truck has the newer style plastic amber cab lights on it. I'd like to put a set of the older style chrome lights with the amber beehive on the front in place of the ugly plastic ones. Anyone know if they're a direct swap? Will I have to drill any extra mounting holes?
  15. Well thanks to the magic of the ATHS Facebook page, I got in contact with the original owners son. He sent me this picture of it. They had a big sale in 2010 and they sold it off.
  16. Does anyone here personally know him? Maybe he wants to buy it back? The owner of the scrapyard told me Geppert brought it in for someone else. I just noticed the Wastler name on the door where the decals had been pulled off.
  17. The truck came from Yarnell P Wastler and sons Inc in Fredrick MD if that name rings a bell to anyone. I took 30 pics. The cab is totally solid. All driveline is there. Would be a great parts truck for someone.
  18. 3K as it sits. He said he'll buy the service body back at scrap price. Unknown if it runs. NO TITLE. I'm out. I can't deal with a no title situation. If someone else wants it for parts, it's at Allegheny Iron and Metal in Philadelphia. Ask for Charlie. He wants to sell it asap cause he needs room.
  19. The service body looked decent but seemed to be missing most of the driver side doors. Had a big empty spot behind the cab for a gigantic welder. The chrome on the stack was still shiny. Was definitely loved at one point. Hopefully I get more info on it today.
