  1. I vote for keeping the spokes on the back with the chrome Alcoa up front. Looks real sharp.
  2. This place used to be Atkinson Freight Lines and they had a fleet of U models. Right next to it covered in tarps was one of the old U models that they're restoring. Single screw with a tag axle. Pretty neat.
  3. Spotted this at the Bensalem travel plaza on State Rd. It's their mobile service truck. Real sharp.
  4. I never got a chance to grab the cap before the tanks were sent to scrap. Sorry.
  5. Use an old C model and transplant a 4bt cummins into it. Run a super single setup on the back instead of leaving the inner tire off on a dual set up. I'm sure you've seen the old beat up freightliners around Philly that run that set up. Looks super ghetto.
  6. Found this nice straight piped R while I was picking up a truck at Philly Spring. Door said Three Sons out of Holland, PA.
  7. Thanks rich. I saw a lot of trucks I know in that R model album. I started painting. Found "almond white" Rustoleum and "Apple red" and just decided to copy what was originally on the rest of the trucks. We have a tire shop we deal with locally and whenever we get spares, the rims are always mis-matched or rusty and cruddy. I just wanna bring some pride back to the truck I drive.
  8. It is, but you still get a whiff of it every now and again. There's more smoke from the blow-by hose than there is the muffler lol
  9. Not trying to dodge an overhaul, just looking to clear up some blue smoke in the morning and cut some of the blow-by. It's a boom truck and I don't like getting the fumes while I'm running the boom. How about cold starts? Truck never gets plugged in but I haven't had any trouble so far. Don't wanna damage anything. We run 15w40 year round.
  10. Lucas oil stabilizer is that honey stuff, right? I used it on my offroading truck. I'll pick up a bottle for the mack too. Thanks!
  11. Anyone running a decent oil additive in their old trucks? Mine smokes quite a bit of blue on start up and has a lot of blow by. Looking for a product that will help the rings out a little bit and reduce the smoke.
  12. Started a new gig with Anderson. Running this beaut of a boom truck.
  13. Thanks, didn't know the front and rear were different. Good lookin MH.
  14. Are the nuts on the cleats the same size as the nuts that hold the spokes to the brake drum?
  15. I'd like to see some pictures of Dayton spokes decked out with chrome lug nut covers. Red spokes with a white rim would be a plus. And if anyone could tip me off as to what size the lug nuts are I'd appreciate it. I'm going to be ordering lug nut caps soon but I always forget to measure the nuts when I'm at work.
  16. Doylestown is 5 miles up the road from my house. I'll keep my eyes peeled for this thing. Surprised I've never seen it around before.
  17. Here's a video of me driving all 7. (Click on it) http://s15.photobucket.com/user/Dan_Hero/media/2EAF1A18-106F-4370-9FEE-99EF0659E373.mp4.html
  18. Wind it all the way out, jake shift it. That's the best way to get it moving. I hate the ones we have at work. I'd rather drive the two stick maxitorque. The ones we have at work will not float into 5th cleanly no matter where you shift it. That's the only gear I usethe clutch on.
  19. Anderson bought one of Miller's Pete lowboy tractors and a lil International water truck. Still painted Miller brown.
  20. Mike, saw you driving your R model up 95N yesterday around 330. I was getting on at Cottman. Looked real sharp.
  21. WOW. Just saw a beautiful B model tandem working the Walsh job on 95 with an ABC driver in it. I wish I got a pic.
  22. My fault, I didn't mean monetary worth. I thought they might be sought after for people doing period correct restorations.
  23. Any worth to it? My work truck just got new tanks and the passenger side tank had a brass(?) cap that said Mack on it. The tanks are going to the scrap yard but if the cap is worth anything I'll grab it for someone doing a resto.
