  1. I spoke with the owner today and he wants $3000 for it as it sits. He obviously knows the value and doesn't seem to want to part it or crush it. He has a gentleman interested that's supposed to give him an answer tomorrow. I was told that guy wants to put a dump body on it and get it back on the road. I'll probably be back in tomorrow and I'll get a closer look and better pics. I gotta be honest, it breaks my heart to see something that complete get torn apart and left to die. I'd love to see it out back on the road. I noticed a missing drivers door, no driver seat and no driver side battery box. Obviously need some wheels under it.
  2. Was taking a load of scrap in today and came across this poor old fella. I assumed they were just gonna cut it up since they're strictly a scrap yard so I asked if I could buy the cab visor before they crush it. That's when I was told they're trying to sell it whole! I'm waiting on a call to hear a price but if I can't afford it, I'll give up the location and hopefully someone here will jump on it. Looked pretty solid from my quick look-over.
  3. That thing would be perfect to haul my four wheeling truck around
  4. Anyone know off hand the size of the nut on the studs holding the spoke hubs to the brake drum on an old R model? I assume most of them are the same. I'm not currently in a position to put a wrench on mine to check the size.
  5. Ive worked aside some GRZ trucks before. Always thought they were nice and very well kept. I love seeing old trucks working.
  6. Like the title says I'm looking for the old square style Lund visor for an R model. Any color is fine. I also need one of the "plugs" or "covers" that fill empty gauge holes in the dash that say MACK. I could pick up near philly or arrange to pay for shipping. Shoot me a PM. Thanks!
  7. What do you even call them? I'm having a hard time finding anything. Dash plugs? Gauge covers?
  8. I have an empty spot in my dash and it's driving me nuts. Anywhere that reproduces the MACK gauge covers?
  9. There's no switch on the clutch pedal. You can operate the clutch pedal with the engine brake on. The switch doesn't say Jacobs so I assume it's just a Mack retarder? Still the same setup with the switch on the fuel pump?
  10. This truck doesn't have a switch under the pedal. It just has the throttle linkage going through the floor.
  11. Can someone tell me where the wiring for the engine brake runs on an 86 R? I'm trying to chase down a loose wire. It worked for a while and then started cutting out and now it doesn't work at all. I just don't really know where the wires lead to on the other side of the firewall.
  12. Thanks guys. The back pain wasn't related to the mack. Just bad genetics. Mike, I did wait until the pain was unbearable. It sneaks up on ya fast. I went from 6 days a week at the gym and taking hikes with the girlfriend to coming home from work and crawling into bed to escape the pain. Anything other than laying down was hell. But I'm back to my old self and it feels good to move around again!
  13. Bump! Just went back to work today after an 8 week recovery from spinal fusion. Nothing too exciting going on yet. Saw a few trucks I haven't seen before. The pictures will start rolling in soon.
  14. I just typed in "banger racing" on YouTube and came across this. Insane how there are no deaths!
  15. That second video is exactly how I play racing video games. Pin the throttle and bounce it off the walls/other cars. Awesome.
  16. It can be done. I do it all the time while plowing. I can even jake float gears. Just gotta make sure you turn the spreader off so there's no load on the PTO.
  17. All of our triaxles have the PTO on the dash with a bright red or or orange light staring into your face and a blinking orange light that comes on as soon as the body rails leave the frame rails.
  18. I have a bad back and air ride actually hurts me more. Especially when you hit an exceptionally bad bump and the seat bottoms out and you pile drive your spine into the floor. I ride with no air in the seat and my back feels better all day.
  19. Jacobs garage as in Jim Jacobs towing? My buddy Matt drives a wrecker for him.
  20. James J Anderson is the company I work for. We have 3 sections of the 95 project. We'll be busy. Gotta be teamsters 107 to work there. ABC and D'Angelo are busy. James D Morrissey always has work but I've heard he's a dick to work for. If you wanna drive a barrel truck, SJA concrete is growing at a crazy rate. (Anderson's wife). All in philly right over the bridges.
