  1. Went to pick up a roller at 22nd and the Parkway and saw this sexy R tractor belonging to Buckley construction.
  2. I've been trying to post some pics I took, but every time I submit the image, it says there's been an error. The pics are way under the size limit. I'm using the site from my phone if that makes a difference. Anyone else having problems? How about a solution? I miss the old site :/
  3. The Superliner I'm driving has a pretty beat center grille. I'm wondering what it would look like with the center painted black and the surround kept chrome. If it's gonna look like junk I don't want to do it. Anyone ever seen one done like that?
  4. That second R is a beauty. My favorite beer painted on the door of my favorite truck
  5. Caught this sunrise over the hood of the Superliner the other morning.
  6. Bigger cabs too. AP are working on the Philly airport with us right now. The last I saw those steel nose DMs, they were in a plow train pushing snow down broad street in south philly. Probably about 3 years ago now.
  7. Putting my A license to work. Haven't moved anything on the road yet, only making site moves, but still having fun at work
  8. That's true, but unfortunately my permit expired before I could schedule a second test. The guy at the Penndot desk told me they no longer issue permit extensions so I had to get a new permit. When you get a new permit, it wipes the slate clean and you have to take all the tests again.
  9. Yeah they still only make you do one side. They told me you have unlimited time for the pre-trip. I wish I was joking, but it took me an hour before I even got in the cab. I took a 48' skateboard and a 95 Pete with a bit of a wheelbase and thankfully my work had it gone over with a fine tooth comb before the test. Still plenty to be nervous about. You never know what they're gonna nit-pick.
  10. Already had one try to do it on the way home from the test. Instead of trying to cut inside me on the right, he tried to race around the wide side and pass me on the left as I made my right turn. I've only had my B for 7 years but that's plenty of time to learn the 4 wheelers are nuts. Thanks for all the congrats!
  11. Today, after 7 years of having a CDL B, I passed my Class A test. It was honestly the most difficult truck related thing I've ever had to do. 147 step pre-trip inspection that took me about an hour before I could even get in the cab. The first time I went to take it, they wouldn't let me take the road test because the 86 Superliner I was in was built without a passenger seatbelt. I had to take one of the Peterbilts today, but I passed this time with flying colors. Here's hoping I'll have some more neat pictures of our Macks at work!
  12. Forgot to post this. Practicing for my class A test. This old thing is a joy to drive.
  13. I've passed it and snapped some pics too. Can't for the life of me remember or find where I posted them.
  14. Spokes or Budd wheels? If spokes, is the rim mounted true on the hub?
  15. I'll disagree. I only see those trucks running the road as aggregate haulers. In the Philly heavy highway field, I wanna say at least 80% or more of local trucks are macks.
  16. AEL is just a single truck. Always see him working with small contractors building houses in and around the city. Next time you're around philly, check out the 95 widening project from 676 all the way up to Cottman Ave. Plenty of Mack action. Coolest thing you'll see from the company I work for is our 77 R wearing original paint and pinstripes pulling trailers of rebar to the cranes. I have our Superliner and the boom truck down at the airport on site. I put so much wax on them but they're getting coated in dust and bird crap
  17. Is that maroon Bradshaw R model a BCR? It has an odd look about it. R400 maybe?
  18. Looks like $167 for just a single latch and then $28 for the hood side from Watts.
  19. Haha I don't think shortening my arms will work! I'm built like a gorilla. I thought about putting an extension on it, but my issue is making the splits with the stick in the lower positions. When I start driving this truck more full time maybe I'll heat it up and make some adjustments. Im still adjusting to being in this truck.
  20. This is in an 86 Superliner. It feels like the stick is back way too far and is real uncomfortable when shifting outta first. My elbow hits the back window when I grab the shifter. 1st pic is first gear and second pic is 2nd gear.
  21. Paging Jdiesel25. A few guys on a Facebook group have been posting some killer B models you must have acquired at some point. I recognized your trucks in the background of one of the pics. Post up some more pics and info!
