Congrats slpwlkr!

Nice to see underdogs truck in the line up.

Some great looking rigs there. Loved thst GTO, that style is definitely my favorite muscle car. Were you trying to commandeer the Diamind Reo to haul parts and tools down to Bobs new shop?
-
I'm with you, I think the left has a horrible agenda they've been pushing for years and it is tearing the very fabric of this country apart. Let's keep hoping and voting to turn this country around.
-
Yep you are allowed to protest but that doesn't absolve you from any repercussions from doing so. Nfl players are at a job where the spectator essentially pays them so if people paying for the crap don't want to hear their political bs they have a right to criticize. Do you go I to work running your mouth to customer and piss them off with whatever political stand you're taking? I doubt it because you would be fired. It doesn't infringe on your freedom of speech but it does hurt the business you are working for. See the difference?

Nah I think you’ll be spending time with that dm in your new shop on sundays.

As Mack technician said this IS the place where we can talk about whatever we like. Just like the tv where you can change the channel, you can choose not to read anything in odds and ends. Not trying to be a jerk or dog pile on you. I want bmt to continue to be a place where I enjoy going and talking over thing with friends so use your freedoms and not read stuff in odds and ends if that's what's upsetting you. There are thousands and thousands of threads to read in all the other forums if odds and ends is making you mad.

Cummins Eyes Eventual Expansion in Medium-Duty Market
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
What is ford using a Cummins in? Far as I know ford doesn't offer a half ton or smaller pickup with a diesel but I've been wrong before. -
Cummins Eyes Eventual Expansion in Medium-Duty Market
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
What is the fuel mileage in those v8 Cummins in the Nissan? Every article I read on them before they came out never mentioned mpg so I was assuming it must not have been worth mentioning. I have noticed that Cummins has been making a big push promoting that R2.8 liter 4 cylinder. They have been heavily advertising and giving engines for projects to Petersons 4wheel and off road and dirt everyday crews to put into projects. Sounds like they were getting nearly 2x the mileage the other jeeps with gas 6 and 8 cylinder engines. -
Well said Paul. The problem is even when shown cold hard facts th majority of our country believes the bs spewed on the "news" channels. The US is in for some trouble unless we get some politicians who care more about the good of our country than being reelected.

I heard jerry jones knelt with the players before the national anthem BUT stood up and respected our flag. I thought it was a very classy way to handle it without furthering controversy either way.

What a crock that is. A well maintained 20 year old truck with an experienced driver is far safer than a poorly maintained new truck. I hate it anytime a government tries to force capitalism in the direction it thinks you should go. It may be different here than Australia but most farms still have late 40's to 70's era 2 1/2 ton trucks carting seed grain and fertilizer to the air drills. Most couldn't justify the cost of new trucks every 15 years just because the government said so.

Cool video Ks. Thanks for posting

Watching the one sided media circus surrounding this is awful. Those players have every right to to protest. What they are forgetting is freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of consequences for their actions.

Consumers Union wants mpg ratings for heavy-duty pickups
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
My dads brand new (at the time) 2007 (I think) crew cab one ton 4wd with the 6.7 Cummins in it got really poor mileage and my dad was very disappointed. He has a stable of 12v and 24v that he has had since new that are used everyday hauling fuel, people, tools and parts to the job everyday with nearly zero problems and good fuel mileage. His new 6.7 was getting 14mpg so he removed the emissions bs and hooked up a tuner and so now with more power he gets 20-22mpg on the highway. Like you said Hobert I'd like to see the actual amount of emissions from the "clean" running 14mpg engine and the more powerful "dirty" engine which gets 20 mpg. -
It’s also glaringly hypocritical of these greenies who live in metropolitan areas never want to give up there lifestyle and the area they live in and let “nature” have it back. Yet a pristine clean place like Montana they want to control and tell us how to manage our already clean beautiful state.

Shell touts progress with new oils, expands Rotella line
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
It’s amazing the oil change intervals on trucks now days. We change our oil every 1000 hours in our trucks per DD recommendation with Synthetic 05-40w which works out to 35-40k miles on average. -
Sorry I missed the sarcasm in your first post Keith. Sounds like you guys are dealing with the same dilemma as us.

Not even close, we don't have timber wolves we have gray wolves. We aren't letting enough of a quota out on wolves to even slow their progression down. In fact the Yellowstone elk herd was decimated due to those damn wolves. Used to be 22000 elk, lots of elk tags and most importantly that herd was the one that everyone got elk out of to repopulate other states that either had few or no elk. The fish and game has tried a number of tactics to generate revenue since the tag sales are down because the numbers are down in any area that has wolves with crummy tactics like letting a ten year old without a hunters Ed go buy a tag and have a "mentor" take them instead of taking the hunters Ed at 12 which they have to anyway. FWP has started making terrible land purchases by paying far above market price for land so they can control and charge to hunt it. They have no business buying land, that's what we already pay the US Forest Service, Bureau of land management, bureau of recreation, Montana state lands, dept of natural resources to do. Sorry if I come off as rude but I can assure you we have far, far too many wolves.
-
I think the reason they are letting the herd grow greater than the carrying capacity of the land is because they are selling he excess buffalo to different tribes and trying to fill that proposed buffalo sanctuary in eastern mt. There has been a huge fight among the farmers and ranchers and the government over this lately.

That just means the crude oil market will be flooded and fuel will be cheap again right Paul? We've all heard of the hydrogen powered vehicle a number of times but the lack of hydrogen service stations and all of the other pieces it takes to get hydrogen to the pump have yet to be figured out in an economical way. If these guys think the oil community (foreign and domestic) is just going roll over and let the government outlaw fossil fuels I think they are short sighted. Oil barons have lots of money and lobbyist world wide.

Can we get a truck to look and function anymore like a minivan so everyone thinks they can drive one? I know it been hashed out before but man am I sick of companies pushing for these autos in trucks. If ya ain't got the brains to shift one maybe you shouldn't drive one. I know there are many skilled drivers who like not having to shift but I truly believe big outfits are pushing for autos so they can throw the greenest person they can find with a pulse behind the wheel and then people wonder why the politicians crack down on truckers with over regulation.

Lutefisk is nasty!!! Fish cured on the docks in lye, then it takes on the look and texture of jello. Yuck! Hey Billy is Limburger cheese the same as liverwurst? I like liverwurst about once a year and by the end of the sandwich I remember why I only eat it once a year.
