Chicago R models
yarnall replied to Lmackattack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Yes, that RL is my father's. It is an RL712LST. It has a 300plus and a 9 speed(?). He fell in love with it in California and had it shipped back. I am not a fan of the yellow and black paint job. You'll have to talk to him about it. Maybe he will leave it to you in his will. Mike -

Brought 2 home yesterday.
yarnall replied to yarnall's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Thanks everyone. I actually committed to buy the ch a couple years ago.but only paid for it at Christmas. They needed money so I bought the R model to keep it from getting worked. I gave them the option to buy it back at the.same price when things are going better. Mike, How big is your building? We'll be over tomorrow after church. The wheel horse is a 1055. The motor has been replaced. They'll get it back with the R model or sooner if they want it. It seems crazy to think that that ch will be 25 years old in 2 years. I love the look now but I was disappointed when the company started switching over from all R models. I will try to post pictures from that era. Mike -
I have a scissors hoist under a 9 foot bed on a B42. Call me if you are interested. Mike 610 764. 8283

Brought 2 home yesterday.
yarnall replied to yarnall's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Thanks Vinny. SM54, Thanks. My father's Superliner went to Florida once a week, was washed and put back in the garage. They lost the run and the driver in 1995 so it didn't come back out until my father bought it as a show truck in about 2004. Leverole, I don't know where I will put them. They are sitting in front of the pole barn. They garage they were in was rented out. I sold the lowboy they had to bullhusk. They have a few junk van trailers left. Mike -
I brought 2 more Macks home yesterday. They both belonged to the company my father worked for. The company closed it's doors about 12 years ago and these two trucks sat in the shop since 2003. My father used to drive the CH. It is a 1990 with a mechanical 250 and a 5 speed. The R model is a 1989 R688ST with a 350 and a 9 speed. These are from the same company my father's Superliner is from. My father also has a 1991 CH612 from the same company. The lettering has been removed from that one though. When They are 25 years old we will start bringing them to shows. This auction has ended. Can't tell if it sold or time just ran out. Maybe I'll call Wayne to find out. Mike

Saw this B model on Ebay. It was down to Mack Day when they had the fire truck show several years back. He has put a lot of work into this truck. You couldn't do one for that price. The Philly Construction Thread

I wouldn't mind having #505, the Autocar next to the Diamond Reo. I am pretty sure those Windsor Service AC's were actually used by Windsor Service back in the day. They were restored by Art Cooper before Windsor Service was bought by H and K and went along with the company. Mike -
Great pictures. I have never been to Beiler's, but have been to Zettlemoyer's. I should have bought a TD6 there, but stopped putting my hand up. Mike

Most of these high paid executives are republicans. They are afraid of the democrats because they would have to pay higher taxes which would go toward terrible things like early childhood education and school lunch programs.

1980 Mack CF Fire-Truck - Battery Question
yarnall replied to dano384's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
Yes. That is what I usually do. I have (4) 12s in my CF right now. I don't know if it has a 24 volt starter on it though. I usually start my firetrucks on both batteries. My Hahn will start with one good 12 volt battery though. That is if you are really cheap. Mike -
This truck and a similar one were for sale in Wheels of Time and the aths web site last year. The pictures looked good and the price seemed right but they still took a long time to sell. I would like to get one like it because my father drove a 1969 A7564 when I was a kid. I actually would like that truck back. It went to Ohio in the 80's, never to be seen again. Mike

Trying to get a B model
yarnall replied to luigiestrada's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
If the truck runs and the floor isn't rotted out it could be worth that. It is very hard to tell with out seeing it in person. That is quite a heavy tail on that tractor. I guess it is for one of those lowboys that you have to winch on. Mike -

Old Ralph G. Smith Photos
yarnall replied to 39 Baby Mack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I called him tonight. Told him I wasn't interested in buying it, but wanted to talk about it. After about 10 minutes he said it was being exported...to Canada. He didn't say exported. He said he bought it about 20 years ago and had to send the Horseshoe back after he got it. I didn't know that they had horseshoes on the H models. He said the Smith's were real nice guys to deal with. I asked him what he was smoking. Ok, I didn't say that. Anyway, he has a bunch of Macks that he would sell, H63, F model, B model. None of them sound great, but maybe something to start with or get parts off of. He is working on a B model for himself. Mike -
Gilbertsville had 3 U model's at one time, two tractors and a tanker. The tanker had originally been a tractor. I am told the one pictured ended up at Grandview, a local dirt track, as the track waterer. I have never gone to look for it. The other tractor was sold a couple of years ago. They told me $8000. I put a lowball offer of $4500 for the tractor and aluminum tandem axle tank trailer. I don't know where it ended up, but I think I have pictures of it and the tanker. I was given Gilbersville's R190 International that pulled a tanker before the U models. It went to a concrete plant and now doesn't have a straight piece of metal on it. As for PA Mack fire trucks, I have several. You should stop by and see them since you are near by. You can see some pictures in my gallery. I am having computer problems and am unable to post pictures right now. Mike
