  1. That is quite a project. Someone posted a sleeper cab L mode in similar condition in the U.K. a few years back. It had remnants of yellow paint. I think he became overwhelmed by the scope of the project. I wonder if this is the same truck. Good luck with it. Mike.
  2. This bumper looks just like the bumper I posted. Square fog light holes and all. It looks nice in the pictures.
  3. There are plenty of people on here who know a lot more about Superliners than I do. Post you questions in the Antique section above and you will get your answer. It won't let me post the bumper photos either but it looks nice. The must be too large for the format. Mike.
  4. $400 doesn't sound bad. I was very happy with $260. If you email them to me I will post them. yarnallvmd@hotmail.com. Mike.
  5. I did but I would like one without fog light holes. This one will do if I don't find one. Mike.
  6. There was just an NOS chrome plated steel bumper with fog light holes on ebay for $265. It was labeled as an MH bumper. If you are in that ballpark I'll take it. Mike.
  7. I bought it for my B62 tow truck. Thanks for posting it. Mike
  8. I spoke with Art Cooper about putting starters on old Macks. He uses a Mack ring gear, Delco MT40 starter and cuts the bell housing. He was selling parts to do this, but sold everything to Gary Mahan. You might be able to get the parts from Gary. Art would be happy to speak to you about this. I can message you his number if you want it. Mike
  9. My father used Admiral Merchants to have his RL712 shipped from CA to PA and was very happy. Mike.
  10. Nice. I'd love a rollback but I'm sure it will be out of my price range. Mike.
  11. My AC is a fire truck so it already has a starter. Art Cooper, the guy who does the restorations for John Haines, has ring gears made and out on then he uses GM starters. He has done it with several AB and ACs. I could get you more information if you are interested. Neat truck. Keep the pictures coming. Mike.
  12. My CF 719 had a two speed spicer hooked to the twin turbo 864 when it was built. It gave the department so much trouble they considered junking the whole truck. They replaced it with an Allison. Andy Lieder too a V8 out of a CF to put in the tractor that pulls the super pumper. If the CF had a spicer in it you might be able to get it from him. Mike.
  13. Looks like a good deal.
  14. Here is one in EBay. $2000. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Eager-beaver-trailer-lowboy-fontaine-talbert-Rogers-general-single-axle-fix-neck/253225122426
  15. My father's boss told me when Mack came out with the Magnum they kept having problems with them. They kept running into slower trucks.
  16. I think that is Chalmers' truck. If it is it is still in his garage in Cashtown. I tried to buy it but it is not for sale.
  17. My father has a binder full of B model spec sheets that he got from Mack as a kid. I wish he had kept the letters that came with them.
  18. I didn't even know you could read yet alone write like that. I thought that was why you had all those Mack part numbers memorized. Anyway, great story. Now it is time to write one about Gunkel Smith and his descendants. Michael.
  19. The Boyertown Museum had two of these and sold one. I tried to buy it but someone with more connections got it. I think they only got $3500 for it.
  20. He is on the Mack Museum advisory board and has been talking about the update. He is working on it. Hopefully it happens.
  21. Congratulations on the purchase of your AC. The serial number is stamped on the top of the left frame rail in front of the front axle. The hood would sit on it. What other trucks do you have. Please post pictures. Mike.
  22. 25 miles an hour seems really fast with no windshield.
  23. There was a great story about the extraction and reconstruction of the truck. Not sure if it was in Double Clutch or another magazine.
  24. I've spoken with the seller several times. There are always circumstances that lead to the decisions that are made. They are hard to guess when you do not know but it is not fair to attack someone from behind your key board when you do not know what those circumstances are. Mike
