  1. Yea, XP was great. 7 is ok, 8- find a tall building and... well you get the idea. What does the new puter have? 8 probably? Always wanted to try a Mac- friends have said they like them with very little issues. I worry about integrating all the windows stuff I have now with the Mac os. I have heard that they can run word, adobe ect...
  2. Round, I think my RD has the small ones, 50 gal? I also have two R's with the bigger tanks ill have to check gallons but they look like at least 100.
  3. Well I did not check the timing (still not sure how exactly to do it properly). But I did take the cover of that covers the screw that adjusts the puff limiter and screwed it all the way in, so I get as much fuel as I can. That made a difference on the bottom end. But what totally slipped my mind in my previous posts, and what now is more magnified by adding more fuel on the bottom is the slight miss I had while revving up. It also idles rough and really bad around 12 to 1400. So I'm now thinking injector? The miss is not noticeable while under load only when revving it up no load. I still have great boost and my EGT will never go above 8-900 no mater what. Do I crack the injector line at the pump to try and identify a bad injector?
  4. My last tower PC was some time ago... would a laptop work for you? I usually drop everything I want on a usb and xfer that way. I never like the newer versions of windows, outlook, word, ect.... I still like XP...
  5. When you say you built a roll of hoist... did you rebuild an existing one or totally build one from the ground up? Can you show us some pics and give some detail? Sounds interesting.
  6. I've got Fontaine on my tractor, no complaints. Lowboy and tank work.
  7. Pricing doesn't seam bad at all. Of course I haven't seen them, but still....
  8. Me too. I'm sure it feels just like yesterday.
  9. I've got lots of space in New York. 1 hour from Albany towards Binghamton on I 88.
  10. I will check again. While out today I was pegging my boost gauge at 30psi though. I really wonder about the timing, how hard is it to check the timing??
  11. Where do you guys and gals that run frequently park your trucks, inside or outside? Especially in the colder parts of the world. When I drove milk truck we could of parked the whole rig in a heated shop but the boss said we would have more problems then if we just left it outside. Now I will not park in a heated shop but will park inside unheated. I think the heat excites the salt reaction against, well- everything and the temp change make lots of moisture where you don't want it. Of course there are benefits to park in a heated shop too... but do the pros out weigh the cons? Anyone have any other thoughts or preferences?
  12. It was cold here this morning, 22. The truck started right up and has always started up good. I'm thinking timing. How can I check or do I need tools and or advanced mechanical knowledge?
  13. Oil is good. Also forgot to mention, although a common complaint, my Jake is useless. The gutted muffler is not helping, I know.
  14. I would say I'm getting fuel, just doesn't seem right to be so doggie and skip while revving up. Maybe puff limiter sticking?
  15. My 96 RD roll off truck with a mechanical E7 350 and 8ll acts very lethargic or slow to rev up while driving or no load. It does make good boost while pulling at right around 30psi. If you mash the throttle no load, it dose skip as it revs up, but dose not do it while driving. It does pull fairly well though... but the water temp will go up quick while working. EGT never goes above 1000. It also seams to have a slight miss while idling. I have a e-7 300, E-6 300 and 350 and they seam so snappy when you crack the throttle, the E-7 350 sounds totally different like its nose is plugged. I have had the valves adjusted, all new filters and muffler has been gutted other than that its stock. The motor was a remack rebuild in 2004. Tach is showing just a little over 20000 hours, 350k miles. No excessive smoke. The truck is useable but this just isn't right. could it be slightly out of time? I think I covered the basics, any ideas? I've driven like this since I bought it in the spring of this year and there has been no change.
  16. Nice, just in time for Christmas. B model sold separately.
