I don't think you've changed a thing. The differance is that in a 20 speed, you would split 5th gear. (5-low, 5-Direct, 5-hi) In the 18 speed, you shift from 4-hi to 5-hi. 5th is overdrive only. Packer

There is one in western Nebraska that I'm aware of. It's been two years since I've seen it and I took no pics - - - but the body was clean, the engine was bad, two axle only, with tri or quad box. The guy wanted $500.00. Packer

And don't forget that if going from positive to negative ground, you must swap the wires on the amp gage for it to read correctly. Packer

Now that I'm single - - - (20+ years) I don't think I would ever name a truck "Lard A$$" - - - Just wouldn't be fair to the truck!!!!! Packer

I ran into a problem with studs and aluminum wheels. The studs MUST be long enough to support the outter wheel on the inner nut! If not, the inner nut will break at the end of the stud and that lets the outside wheel take to the road, --- alone!! (Been there, done that) Long is good! (Leave that alone, Rob!) The inner nuts then must be taken off with a pipe wrench or an outter nut welded on the inner. Measure from the brake drum through both wheels and most of the outter nut. That's how long the studs need to be. Packer

I do a little 4 wheeling in a much more than stock Jeep. My air compressor for the air lockers draw air from the air filter piping. Two reasons: Filtered air for the compressor and only one filter to change. Dry filters work great; oil bath may be another issue. But it works great on my B-61. Packer

I'm the one that may be unsatisfied!! That "fix" maybe should go in the "Tech" section as the way to fix a steering wheel. That way the next generation will have access to iy forever. Good stuff Rob!!!!!!! Hang in there! Packer

You're killing me, Rob!!! Thought I had the fix to end all fixes! Might have to re-think this whole thing! Don't want to RE- do that job. I spent some serious time getting it "just right". Packer

Something I have tried with good luck is to go to the paint store and get paint "Pigment", not paint and add it to epoxy. A little dab will do ya!! I use a tooth pick to add the color. Mix well and follow Rob's clean and sand directions for preping the wheel. I picked up some small tubes with plungers and a tapered point to squeez in the epoxy, with a pin hole on the back side to let the air out and make sure the epoxy has filled the hole. I used gun action bedding "GEL" from Brownells (Iowa?) in the East part of the world. It does not get brittle, but takes 24 hours to set, but still soft enough to work. The instruction say 7 days to fully set up. When I'm through, the color was close, and no painting. It worked for me and this was my first Rodeo!! (Rob, Where were you when I needed you?????????) I'll try the other stuff on the next one. It will be black and I do have some black epoxy die. If it fails, - - - I might keep my mouth shut!! As I remember, the whole job was less than $15.00. Hey guys, I am needing some 6.75 X 22.5 wheels!!!! I made a smokin' deal on some 9.00 X 22.5 tires for my '42 EF. Now I can't find wheels! This side of the "Big Muddy" dayton wheels are next to impossible to find. Is there some where in the East coast area that I can get about 12 of these wheels? Used is good, new a bit more spendy but still OK. There has got to be a bunch of these out there - - - I just can't find them. Thanks, Packer

Got a call from an old friend wanting to sale me his '38 GMC COE. We're trying to find a price we can both live with. This is a restored, painted, running truck with new tires and some truck show trophies. Any input would be great!!! Packer

Speed, I have a pair of 11.00 X 22.5's on my "new" EF. I put them on just to hold the thing in the air and to steer it for loading and unloading. They almost didn't fit under the wheel wells,and might be an issue when turning hard. I'm going with 9.00 X 22.5 and still may need to have the springs re-arched. That said, Free or cheap is good!!! You could run them as drivers and not have problems. Packer

I worked on a lot of turbine engines - - -1,100 to 7,700 Hp. Loved working on them!! They are not fuel efficent but the horse power that comes from such a small package was impressive!!! 1,100 HP from an engine that will fit in a pick-up. The small engines were the most problematic. 'Charlie' called them "Whistling S--thouses" Packer
