    That's the turn signal box. We had them instead of below the steering wheel on the column.

    I do not want to hijack this thread but on the Veteran topic there is nothing more satisfying than the look on a veterans face when you thank them for their service. The recognition for their service is precious for the sacrifice that they gave to our country and for our ability to live free here in USA.

    I would like to find a R400T with the 413 Chrysler engine for sale. That would be my ultimate truck to restore and pull my 5th wheel rv trailer. I found 1 old fire company R400 with the 413 but it was sold before I got there to see it. I'll keep searching.

    I started driving in 1969 for a union company where my father had worked since 1949 and was the shop steward. I got layed off in 1972 during the recession then and worked non-union jobs because no union jobs were available. I moved to Florida in 1986 and landed a union job until the company folded and left Florida in 1988. Again no union jobs so I found another job until I retired in 2011 and hung up the keys. Good while it lasted but never any help from the union.

    NJ has the law to fill your gas tanks for you but no self serve. But if you are a semi you self serve your own truck at the truck stops. Double standard going on?

    I don't think so. It looks like it is there to help support the lower piece of the grill. I've never seen that before. Is it a grill from maybe a Western F model or something?

    Chris1953, Being an rver myself I would love to have an R model to pull our 5th wheel. I really like our Ram but an R like yours would be the ultimate way to go. Nice job that you did from start to now. I envy you.

    I have been to the Autocar factory for a tour and this conventional cab would be awesome as a tractor. I hope that their sales/engineering departments come together and start building these as a tractor version instead of refuse/ mixer versions only. What a beast!

    Volvo knows how but choose not to. They killed off their own large Volvo years ago but I don't remember the model name or number but it was a beast. They probably will destroy Mack rather than sell it to any company. Very sad way for the best truck of all time to die a slow death.

    The U models were also designed to allow for pulling those 45' trailers back when the length laws were 55'. I also loved the bumper guide bars on my Macks but with the baby dogs on top. I also have a pair on my Ram 2500 and it still helps to know where the right side of the front of the p/u really is.

    It might have helped drivers see out the left side better but how many U and DM's did you see with right front fender damage? It surely didn't help the passenger side.

    What is up with the idiot that posted all the airline sites? Annoyingly a real PITA that they appear and are left up just to take up space for no Mack reason.

    Being a full time 5th wheel Rver now I would be so proud to have this B model for my hauler. It is gorgeous!

    Meet and greets are the absolute best! When you can put a face to a name it is really great.

    Skippy, Glad you are over the Covid. What a bummer. Your "baby" is really coming along nice. I can't wait to see the flatbed and the finished project. My hats off to you and your family for a beautiful way to enjoy family time.

    Personally I would have preferred an original style chrome bumper with SS guide bars and baby bulldogs on them.
