  1. Same thing happened in front of our building yesterday afternoon just before leaving work for the day. Apparently he didn't have sense enough to make sure the fifth wheel was locked before taking off. He got really lucky, he was only about 30-40 feet from entering the highway when the trailer came loose. From what I heard today, the cab was jarred badly enough that the doors were all cattywampus and wouldn't open so he had to crawl out the window ala the Dukes of Hazzard
  2. I think Rob may be right. The chassis record shows a 24 volt starter arrangement and a 12 volt alternator.
  3. Good call on that one Rob.
  4. Sometime back there was a publicity photo of a 2010 emissions ABF truck that looked pretty clean.
  5. I think right now vertical DPF/SCR is available only on the Terrapro chassis. I hear it's supposed to be in development for twin steer applications too, but the setup looks really ugly.
  6. There's an option for having the air tanks mounted inside the frame rails that's available for some chassis now too. I think there is a minimum wheelbase needed for the in frame air tank setup though.
  7. If you can't find any visible signs of coolant leakage it could be an internally leaking EGR cooler. My guess if you don't have any other performance related symptoms is that it is blowing out of the overflow on the radiator reservoir. The drain line for the overflow hangs down by the left steer axle spring. When coolant is forced out of the reservoir through the line it can catch air and blow away, so you won't always notice a leak there. There is a check valve type arrangement that can be added to help prevent this from happening.
  8. The system says it was built with an EM6-300, T2060 Mack 6 speed transmission, 5.32 ratio Mack CRDLP 92/92 rear axles.
  9. Congratulations Rob! Prolly thinking more along the line of a mobile featuring gorillas and bears.
  10. What engine is in your GU? It could be either an MP7 or MP8.
  11. Follow the upper radiator tube to the engine. The thermostat is mounted inside the housing attached to the water manifold with 4 bolts.
  12. The speedometer can cause the engine to derate.
  13. I know, right? I wuz all worried that he had stroked out in the sun or something and couldn't use his typing hand no more! I see he's been on here, just hasn't posted anything in a long time. Prolly just been checking up on us in between siestas with the gorilla/eating banannas and laying around with the bear/guzzling down honey.
  14. Looks kind of strange. What's the deal with the front discharge mixer in the background of the third picture?
  15. Not sure about the Australian engine but the 1999 E-Tech 460XT says 27-35 psi at sea level.
  16. Since pictures of things appear to be the order of the day I thought I'd include this one. The hummingbird feeder was filled with fresh sugar water this morning, by around 9 AM there was a growing number of bees floating around. By 4 PM they had pulled the level of water down to within an inch of the base/perch line on the feeder.
  17. Kind of a vasectomy joke. OK, here goes... Rob had suffered seriously painful migraines for years, finally he went to see a specialist. The doctor said, Rob, the good news is I can cure your headaches. The bad news is that it will require castration. "You have a very rare condition, which causes your testicles to press on your spine and the pressure creates one heck of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles." Rob was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live for. He had no choice but to go under the knife, the pain of the headaches was unbearable. When he left the hospital he was without a headache for the first time in 20 years, but he felt like he was missing an important part of himself. As he walked down the street, he realized that he felt like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life. He saw a men's clothing store and thought, 'That's what I need... A new suit...' He entered the shop and told the salesman, 'I'd like a new suit..' The elderly tailor eyed him briefly and said, 'Let's see.... Size 44 long' Rob laughed, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years!' the tailor said. Rob tried on the suit, it fit perfectly. As Rob admired himself in the mirror, the salesman asked, 'How about a new shirt?' Rob thought for a moment and then said, 'Sure.' The salesman again eyed Rob and said, 'Let's see, 34 sleeves and 16-1/2 neck.' Rob was surprised, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years.' Rob tried on the shirt and it fit perfectly. Rob walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked, 'How about some new underwear?' Rob thought for a moment and said, 'Sure.' The salesman said, 'Let's see... Size 36. Rob laughed, 'Ah ha! I got you! I've worn a size 34 since I was 18 years old.' The salesman shook his head, 'You can't wear a size 34. A size 34 would press your testicles up against the base of your spine and give you one heck of a headache.'
  18. I'd say you ought to feel guilty paying that price, but you probably did the farmer, and the truck, a favor by taking it off his hands. Better get the Missus something nice for keeping an eye out!
  19. I read the thread yesterday and then couldn't find it again. After you brought it back to the front I went back and looked and see the same guy gave 2stick2stack a rep point after he said he agreed with you.
  20. If the problem persists make sure the suction line and the pickup in the tank are clean. On numerous occasions I have seen "floaters" in the tank cause intermittent fuel starvation problems. Ham and cheese sammiches, fishing bobbers, and tampons are some of the more "interesting" things I've seen cause that sort of problem.
  21. Is it a T107 series transmission? Sounds like the shift cylinders may need to be rebuilt with new o-rings.
  22. Should be a CM55, here/s a link to the illustrated parts list from TTC transmission http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/pdf/T210-CM55_32.pdf
