  1. I should dig out some of my old manuals, but isn’t the outer cam and pinion gear all one piece? Maybe i’m off base here? Terry please correct me if i am wrong 😁Or is the outer cam splined to the pinion shaft with a nut?
  2. Better get a manual, i think the older series of front rears on a standard power divider to change to air operated i think the outer cam on power divider had splines that engaged front and rear end, and that entails taking front rear apart. terry
  3. I guess measure from trunnion tube to bottom of frame, and then figure you trunnion bushing out, or compare part numbers of each trunnion. terry also spring width at the bushing.
  4. Good price on that long block if a guy needed it! terry
  5. Thanks for the update. terry
  6. That truck will be working right around this new emission choked trucks broke done on the road with a sensor code, parts for it will be around for quite awhile, i would much rather have a truck around this era than anything new. terry just might have to do a searching for parts if something does happen
  7. Does the LJXWX have the roto chamber brake cans, i believe they used them because of not enough room. terry.

  11. We had a r model mack for a contractor i once worked for, had that cross torque arm added ,no extra plate for reinforcement and kept cracking frame between bolt holes, terry
  12. And throw them in the freezer before installing them? terry
  13. Never realized there was different thickness housings on the stamped ones. terry
  14. That’s what i found out, seems like the gasket would let it work loose. terry definitely had to have everything real clean.
  15. There is a gasket, but i was resealing a axle on a weekend with no gasket, al;ways heard you never really needed one, so i put some sealer on axle flange and never used a gasket again. terry
  16. Thats fine, was just tossing that out there. terry
  17. I have always used some silicone sealer on axle flange with no gasket, never had a problem. terry
  18. Oh yeah knock it out, and go with a stemco or other newer inside seal , then lightly pack some grease on both bearings to lube them till the bearing cavity fills with gear oil, before i put outside bearing in, i would have some gear oil in a plastic squeeze bottle and squirt it in cavity and put outside bearing in. terry
  19. If your putting new seals on s cams, be sure to put the one towards the slack adjuster in backwards, so when greasing it will leak past that seal and not blow the brake shoe side seal. terry
  20. Isn't there a part number for the seal and wear ring kit? terry
  21. My first dump truck in “73” was a B 421 six cylinder gas with a baby quad, drove it for one year for another guy, bought it and drove it for another year, then bought a B61 , 711 with a turbo ,triplex trans, tractor, stretched it for a dump box and put p/s on it and drove it for ten years, then bought a DM487 had a scania with automatic, pulled all that out, then put a 237 with a quad, ran that for quite a few years, then got real ambitious and done a newer cab, 285 engine with a mack 12 speed, and a whole different cutoff 4:17’s with camel backs, i could bury that 80MPH speedometer, engine would turn 2300. Terry.
  22. there was a local contractor that had a R700 years ago with a V8 and a six speed, must have been a EM9 series? terry
  23. No pic.
