  1. Probably mentioned this before, check valves in lift pump can loose prime.
  2. Believe there has to be a little freeplay there, when you tighten to 250ft. lbs you are just binding everything up. you need specifications from a service manual. terry
  3. I would guess that nipple off the water pump housing would be to heater,with the return to the water manifold. terry

  5. I know it’s your call, but with the trouble you had getting injectors out, i sure would try to scare up a reamer🤷‍♀️. terryespecially since your doing a proper overhaul?

  12. Engine thermostat should be about ten or fifteen degrees cooler than the shutterstat so it opens first, then the shutters open when really working it. terry

Red e mix here in omaha had a bunch of DM 487’s back in the early 70’s, scania’s with auto trans and a three way auxiliary, really, really gutless, i bought one real cheap, when i was finally done, had a 285 horse, mack 12 spd. And 4:17 camel backs and a mid 80’s U model cab with a/c , it was a resl runner. terry
  14. I think we need a little more information on what engine he has. terry could be a 673, 711, or a newer transplant 🤷‍♀️
  15. Never could figure out why them guys like that shifter to the roof, sitting on the floor, and a visor covering up three quarters of the windshield! terry 😂
  16. Not sure on the fuel pressure, maybe someone else will chime in on that. terry
  17. Right under the front of injection pump, has two fuel lines on the bottom of it, with two capscrews with copper washers on the top of it, take the nuts off and there is a plastic check valve under each one. You can see the top of it on the last pic. terry also a small spring on each one
  18. Have you checked the two plastic check valves in the fuel lift pump? terry
  19. Joey what do you think of a bolt in headbolt hole with a washer to catch edge of liner, to hold down if you turn engine for something? terry
  20. If it is leaking fuel out, it is probably letting air in, terry
  21. I’m trying to figure out on pic#14 on the market place ad what bolt on the lower frame flange is for, never seen that before? terry
  22. Just noticed, kind of a short wheelbase, box hangs over the tandems quite abit, could be a problem on bridge laws? terry
  23. Only thing to make it better would be a 350 and 12speed. terry and 4.17 rears
  24. Yeah the old fashioned clutch and brake reline shops a pretty much a thing of the past, where they could reline about anything you could come up with. terry
