  1. Well we know where 2 RLl's with V12's are and I know of two RS's with V12's I was told the third RL V12 was wrecked so we need to find the other 5 or 6 that are out there with the V12's! By the way the other RL has a E9 Mack V8 in it now BULLHUSK PS Thank You Mike for all the info!!!
  2. I have a Western Star 4900 demo with a Detroit 16 liter 600 The Jacobs brake is great on this engine esp. When the thing pulls 80,000 like it was pullin the skin off a hot dog!! I love this engine but am opting for the DD 13 470 hp for weight reasons and will be ordering Freightliner Coronado's instead of the WS ,again weight. I think the Detroit Diesel is the best Engine on the market today and as far as the Jake Brake goes, ya just order them an forget about them cause they are trouble free, I just hope the DD 13 is as good as the 12.7 14' an 15 liter has been to us! BULLHUSK
  3. Now dats what I call horse power!!BULLHUSK
  4. Western Star heavy weight is today's Autocars! I just looked at a new tri axel frame less body and its a beefy truck! BULLHUSK
  5. Not a Ford Guy but I give old Lee a lota credit on those babies!! BULLHUSK
  6. Ya want a largecar kinda truck like a Mack Titan with a sleeper?? Do ya think Volvo wasn't smart?? Don't kid yourselves guys If you want a truck like that there gonna sell you a Volvo!! Look all you guys that like the Mack Volvo deal I myself don't see a thing wrong with it at all!! But I'm gonna tell ya this, Volvo will not put a integral or any other kind of factory sleeper on in the USA Titan cause it will destroy the Volvo road tractor and they know what a beautiful tough lookin truck it would be!! And they will not out shine there Volvo!! And I'll say it again if not for USA Mack's great great reputation in the truck building business (better then anything they ever had) they would have closed Mack like they closed the other USA truck makers in this country! So when you say that it's a good thing that they kept Mack in the US you are spot on!! But think about all the jobs that were lost when the closed Autocar White-GMC Trucks Just my opinion I'm not Volvo bashing It's just the way I see it through my eyes BULLHUSK
  7. I don't think people realize that the E-9 is still very much alive in Europe!! I could remember talking to Joe Cambria back in the day about Mack bringing on the new V8 Electronic engine....It never came..gee wiz I wounderin Y???BULLHUSK
  8. So what motor is Renault running in there Magnum V-8 trucks today? Scania?? BULLHUSK
  9. Was it not the head engineer at Volvo who hit his head on the bathtub putting up the clock in the bathroom ?? LOL!
  10. How about this... Volvo bring back the Brockway in glider kit only (rolling or power of choice inc. Volvo ) this will let the American Trucker know that Volvo' heart is in the right place? Not so hard to do, just use a R cab (just have to turn the roof around) and get the spec's from the Last Brockway Superliner that was never built.... No? Or better yet build the Brockway prototype with any engine you want even Detroit ill bet it can be done even with today's emissions and send the Volvo back to where ever. Just one more thing, I like Western Star and Freightliner cause they work for me maybe not my neighbor or uncle but for me they work! But the thing that I really like is that the Mother company did not try to flood America with there truck nor do they try an sell me a Mercedes! They build F-Liner So a da border but all the motors are built in Detroit USA as W S is still built in the US. That also I think is part of What some old school Mack guys don't like is the fact that Volvo closed US truck makers to make room for Volvo instead of building on White GMC and Autocars, whereas Mercedes took out Ford but built on Freightliner and Western Star Detroit Diesel and left there motors and trucks home! BULLHUSK
  11. Barry, First off thank you for this wonderful site!! Now what I'm going to say here is just my opinion. First off I think people are pissed off at Volvo not just about Mack but about how they handled themselves in the US market with what they did to White GMC Autocars and I think if not for the Mack legend they would have pushed them off the face of the earth. If you are getting reports from Volvo about the negativity that oozes from the members who own or who would maybe own a new Mack if not for Volvo? Does Volvo realize that the diehard Mack people don't like the fact that Volvo is putting their motors transmissions into Mack trucks and just changing the name? Again just my opinion but If Volvo sees negativity coming from the members of the Mack truck site then don't you think they should be looking across each other at the board meetings and saying hey we got to change this! people aren't liking what's going on with Volvo Mack the Volvo marriage whatever you want to call it but if there arrogant then they're just going to let it go. Volvo has got to change their way of doing business in America because I don't see it getting any better with the public true they are selling a lot of trucks but I guess like you said in your post Barry we will see what happens in the future but it's up the Volvo to get some people out there and try to start to Turn the negativity around. A good start would be to have all of the US Mack engineers design and build a new motor from scratch and let it be known that this motor was entirely built and designed by the Mack engineers in United States then I would start changing the Mack to look like a Mack and not a Volvo and maybe just maybe Volvo will start winning over a lot more people and I think the negativity will start changing to a positive and I think that's all that the Mack people want is a true Mack design truck and not a Volvo with a Mack badge on it again just my opinion thank youBULLHUSK
  12. Every time I see one of your posts I think of the many times as a young kid back in the early 60's I would come home from school do my homework (not) and go back to work with my dad, he was a truck mechanic an would go back to his shop every night after dinner 7 days a week! Most of the trucks back then were Mack an Brockway an a lota those trucks had gas motors in them and boy was my dad a wiz on those gas jobs the 427 Continental 572 as well an the EU's and EQ's LJ's LFs Mack's!! So when I hear you talk about the old Mack days.... I remember those days when we went into Newark Mack on Miller St (NJ) at night to get bearings pressed on an off or seeing the Ballintine beer mechanics getting parts for there chain drive yard horse tractors!!!! Now you can't even get F model or DM parts!! It was a great time to be a kid! Today it is all gone..... Very sad indeed! But I do want to thank you for all the many things you bring to the Mack truck site I myself have absorbed a lot of it!!!Ernie Delli Santi AKA Bullhusk
