  1. If you might be interested in how I did about the tank of my R688ST read here: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/33825-fuel-tank-cap-question/ Everything easier, faster or better is interesting for me too.
  2. Hi Tim, Those were the floor bricks for my yard. There were 3 such the loads at all although I only made one with Mack. I wasn't too shure about the bed and the truck was not insured and licenced temporary to not pay taxes. I was interesed to drive it under load and get some fun of trucking. The guys who sold bricks had their flat bed with a crane so the transportation cost was covered by unloading.
  3. Haven't noted anything about PAI in the written though. I also have T2090 and it works like a grindet-out poor can of gears. The main box. The splitter doesn't make me worry. There's the second the same truck with T2090 also. The splitter there is half-dead but the main box shifted well as long as I tested it once in a low range. So maybe is there a chance to work out a good one of the two?
  4. Many thanks Ryan, The picture of such the resolution might be put on a wall in a room or on my garage gates if I really want. And I glad to see your truck from the back side because those flaps from Watts look not bad when on. Yea, I'll definitely hang it up somewhere and will be looking at for some time and think about Just kidding Leon, PM sent. Well, I'll let you guys know when get some mind on the matter. Thanks again. By the word I have the original Mud flap of Sent-Germain (SGT) wich would be interesting to keep on but there's the only one...
  5. Little note - right at the moment Mack Museum has a waiting line for about one and half month. So keep it in mind, you'll need a time to get the record.
  6. Leon, let me help you, I have alot of Dutch Mack pictures in my computer. The last one seems to me as an American one.
  7. I looked over the pics of Rick's B when under construction, and it looked to me tooooooo impressive. Another important moment - that high level project is completely done. Being a distributor and doing such things is a very good and true way to deal on my mind.
  8. It made me sad Ryan, I too liked that kind. I thought I had the pic of your RW rear end with the flaps you ended up with but found neither. If not a trouble please post them again or PM me.
  9. It's the best home for shure but that above makes more feel to cry than please.
  10. Looks like a nice event to visit in Australia. Sorry at least not this year. By the word my impression of American roads is the best way to drive there with a truck. Alot of space and not too high speed limit for a car. And now I know why Harley's are so popular and sport bikes aren't.
  11. Sorry about that story, good (I hope) you can drive the truck with that damage. Neat RW and the cabover on the pics you posted.
  12. Local dealer is able to buy from ebay for me, just extra 55% and inside the US shipping so no troubles. Just haven't seen them anymore.
  13. I also like F-model, the top right picture is incredable with that scenery. The road to Buffalo - uhhhh... I can't recognize it, probably too much time went from the summer and it was changed.
  14. I bought stainless steel mud flap brackets with stop/turn lights and got them from the dealer on days. Now I started to look over mud flaps to attach to. I know Watts have them black with white bulldogs but I'd like to get of some another design. It looks to me there are OEM kinds of, at least I noted the black's with white logo and the white's with black. Walking around the show grounds in Holland last year I made shots of and noted there are trucks with mud flaps where the dogs faced to the same side, not to each other. I also checked OEM # from the online accessories catalog and found out that the white with black mudflap is sold as each, not a pair and has the only number, not L/R. There were nice looking black mud flaps with a silver/green logo on ebay. The add was gone by the time but I asked the seller about plans to continue. The only answer was "We don't ship to Russia". This way I'd like to hear any ideas on what kinds of flaps I can get and from what sources. If anybody is informed of OEM # references to the actual designs it's too appreciated. My need is a pair of 24x24. Vlad.
  15. Looks to me as a space-travelling combinatoin. I still think on to change the rears to 4.64's or 4.17's having E6-350 with 0.8OD box or to stay as is with 5.02's. It does now 60 with no trouble having 11.00R20's at rear wich will be changed to 11.00R24.5's.
  16. Color pics looks nice although B&W's have some special appearence. From what I can see the truck is in a great shape. Have a ball with it.
  17. You did a good thing for shure. Hope telephone guys fixed the cable with no much trouble if they had to. Did the moose keep a patience during his liberation or not?
  18. With that interiour and steering wheel color it looks like it was originally an army truck.
  19. I always liked this paint scheme, is this the factory?
  20. Mostly the same way overhere. There's a lot of Tadjilian and Uzbekian guys who get jobs in construction, street cleaning and other unpopular employes. Most merchandize made in China or Taiwan. We still can see many "Made in Russia" things in shops although they are of a low quality and cost expensive in the relation to the 3rd countrie's import ones. We used to see low quality local made goods but we used to get them 3-4 times cheaper than anything from out of the border. No it's not. I can say there's a difference with America of people here at previous times lived poorer, now we are able to buy anything we want and many people can do it. Although it mostly because of extensive oil import wich was provided in Soviet times also but was spent for the army and space technologies. Nowadays most of the oil input comes into the thing we should call "economics" but really into consumtion. For sure great amount of money goes into power's pockets because of unbeliveble corruption although those guys have to spend alot so a big part reaches others. Along this process people started to make thier work terrible because many of payed well on different govnt jobs (corrupted) with no need to do things perfect. So when you start to look for any service, for example car/truck repairs you're going to pay alot with no result. You'd be glad to come newer again to that place but you'll get the same anywhere you try. So many people still live not good enough but alot of them should not live as good as they now do. A little note about choppers. I haven't heard about that contract for Afghanians (just didn't interested) although there was a talk to buy some of from France for Russian army. Vlad.
  21. Fresh paint looks bright and nice! Glad to see your progress.
  22. Ken, It's very kind from you, thanks. I will keep 'em in my prayers.
  23. Nice rigs and interesting stories. I like to read about early times trucking in your country, thanks.
  24. Thank you for the fast help, guys. I was thinking about some kind of N.P.T. or something like that but absolutely couldn't be shure having no SAE experience. We here use to use the sort of pipe thread wich is for heating/water supply. The sizes called 1', 1-3/4 and so on but the actual measurements are away from real inches. SAE hardware is difficult to get here, especially taps and dies. Although when looking at all that with a hobby wiew that's a kind of an adventure again. As for the polishing it was a story I'm still out of my mind about. For the first when I took the tank off I found out the inside cross wall was laying on the bottom off it's welding. It was a surprize just on a flat place. Googled for a tank repair shop, brang it there. They wanted to cut off the end side. I stopped that nice idea and told them to make a cut-out on the back side. Couple of days later it was ready and I got it. By the word I had to transport it in my Mercedes - G. Next I said to the guy at my shop to send it with a hand electric machine. He started and said "no luck, it's better to work by hand". Next (next day) we resolved to buy sand paper disks and continue with a hand drill machine. And so on. To make a long story short he spent about 20 working days to grind off most of the corrosion cavits (on the face areas) and send it up with all numbers of paper. In the end I started to work with a paste I used for Alcoa wheels and got some strange result of black stains I could get off only by sanding. Probably the tank was made of a different kind of alloy. A friend of mine gave me a bit of 3M branded stuff for alu polishing and I finally came up with what you now see. The tank doesn't shine perfect still and I hope (a bit) to polish it up more right before the instalation. In the spring, not yet. Now all that is about 3 weeks back but I'm still under impression and trying to figure out what to do with the other one
  25. Congrats on the new dog hous! Hope it will be Ok for your pockets for a long time.
