  1. Hi Paul! I noted different avatar of yours and was interested in. Read this tread with pleasure. Haven't heard you have dump business so suppose you need a bunch of work to paint and polish those giants for a show. All the trucks above look great with the bodies they are with. So don't see hard matter to change them. Although idea about roof mounted AC seems interesting and easy on my mind.
  2. Good day for any wine on my mind. Best wishes!
  3. Looks not bad. And has original (?) red interior. Wonder how high it would go.
  4. Post what you'll see there antique. I mean of cource.
  5. You guys told most wrong. Power divider doesn't lock itself totally but distributes torque between axles by a special way. Common diff has distribution 50/50. It means when you ride both wheels (semi shafts) have a half of the torque provided to an axle. When one of wheels starts to spinn the torque on a spinning wheel limits its traction on slide surface i.e. too small. Diff distributes the same amount of torque to another wheel. It's small also and isn't enough to move vehicle. That's why we are getting stuck. Diff of the kind with peanuts (Mack patented) distributes power in relation up to 1/3 so if one wheel spinning another one get 3 times more torque then a spinning one. It's 3 times more but usually still not enough. Then you applying brakes. Brake torque increases torque on a spinning wheel although another one get it 3 times more. That is what you feel as "enough". It's all described very good on here in the Wiki support forum. Just look: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/21251-mack-power-divider-info/ Another way is a diff with lock (air lock or correctly say "air activated lock") It works like any other diff lock i.e. just put both shafts together as a solid one. This way you must use a vehicle like a one without ANY diff. No distribution of power so all 100% of torque can go to any of two wheels (axles if it is interaxle diff). Just don't forget that a torque stressed one shaft can also be 100% instead of only 50 when you drive unlocked.
  6. Looked very good in her old days indeed. Sad to see her as a dump although it's usual when you take anything off your care.
  7. Congratulations on getting it. Glad to know Mama was Ok about this old piece of steel and aluminium.
  8. Mike, I'm glad to know you think of me sometimes, hope it's not a nightmare. Thank you, I have this one in my 'puter. Any others would be too appreciated though. I plan to change minor the colors but will keep general SGT apperiance when paint my R. Want to too much though need to finish NR first. Or at least to make an amount of up.
  9. Just look after you post every pic and if you see anything positioned wrong delete it and pre-turn the image in the phone. And post. Any other trouble?
  10. Great trucks painted nice colors! Thank you for posting them, I have never got any actual Overdrive in my hands.
  11. I just worry about enough strength of the inner rails only to carry the central section. Although I hope you know it better. On my mind you need to pay attention for rust protection of the weld you'll put on the outer rails on their inner side, actually inbetween the rails. About the lights, horns and so on I'm shure it's your truck and your way to do about. As for me I'm with Mike and like it stock. It's just the mind of other folks, maybe it's interesting for you. Not more
  12. Neat pics Paul, I see you spent the time good. The shovels on the train are awesome!
  13. I see you made a big value work and the end looks good. Don't know why you wanted so long WB, suppose for a smoother ride. Just used to go in tight corners so not my way. Generally like the way you have it done keeping some original holes but don't understand one thing. Your outer frame rails - were they solid from the front to the end and you devided them in two parts? Or they are just additional outside reinforcements? Glad to see you're back on the road.
  14. Mirrors/brackets look great! You also can use stainless wire to solder them of. Harder to work with but would shines brighter when polished. SS could be soldered good with phosphoric (soldering) acid. Under the hood filter is going to be looking nice and realistic. And don't forget to add some real piping and wiring instead of that poor plastic imitation. Keep on moving!
  15. Thanks again folks! Pawel, I hope you sooner get a Visa-free option as Germans and other have. At least you're in the EU and it's good. Green Dash, looks like you're going to say anything as crever as might be rated as the Best answer. Although I said before all answers of the best guys who all here are must be the best ones! Would be glad to read anything you might post anywhere
  16. Interesting as usual Tom, thanks. What's about that roof? Meteores?
  17. Nice wooden stuff! Somebory made them with love for shure.
  18. Definitely. I was surprized too much when learned that the most reason to get Visa is to demonstrate tight relationship to MY own country. The reason to be back home. Any relations to the US including friends or relatives work like a barrier giving me chances to stay in for a while and illegaly. A portion of BS again but it's life how it is.
  19. Good report Tom. Gladis pics looks interesting. New point to hunting? Sorry can't realize what's about that licence plate.
  20. Hope you will be Ok soon. It's sad of course to not starting biking after so long cold season but we should always remember that the life can be any moment worther. So just relax and enjoy the time you are waisting. Because (everybody knows) it's not waisted. Saw some first bikers today when drove over the city. Just 6 degrees above the freezing point and snow hills aside roads. Lust to do it also but this year I lust more to put Mack on a road.
  21. Tom, I see you are also! Best wishes and everything good! As I wrote before I'm missing much important every time I'm off here.
  22. Thanks again for the kind words guys! Randy, I remember your invitation, will not miss it for shure if I ever can. Yea, Winfall is on my plan, hope OD will provide me over. I also noted Tilted kilt in some post. Oh, hell, I plan to keep my son with me! Anyway too early to make plans up. Should wait and continue to keep my fingers crossed. US ambassady is tooooo cantenkerous overhere. Vlad
