  1. Another Obummer screw-up..... ASA Cash for Clunders Failed.pdf
  2. Drove by Adelman's today and saw this truck for sale. Looks like a real beast. http://www.adelmans.com/rm688-mack-vspreader
  3. Good to hear you are okay. I was viewing pics of Washington posted on the Peoria Journal Star (newspaper) website. In one pic I think I see my one friend's house. If so, it is still standing. Still too early to know if him and others are okay. Strange thing about tornados. One side of the street is flattened and the other untouched.
  4. Not to highjack this thread but is this true for older vehicles (specifically 1992 MH)?
  5. Sounds like a "used car salesman". My knee jerk reaction is to run in the opposite direction and don't look back. Now if the sales person is Bea (in the white top) I would at least ask for a "test drive". (that reminds me of a true story....some other time)
  6. I have not dealt with Tucker Equipment but have met Braydon. He seems like an honest person. I think he is a BMT member. Give him a call, explain your situation, and ask him for an honest description and detailed pics of the vehicle. My Canton residence is about an hour west of Lisbon. If I am in OH, I would stop and look for you. I think he gets the trucks from local operators. Sorry I can't give you a better reply.
  7. Nice ride! Always good to see other MHs.
  8. Things are not looking good for my friends that live in Washingtion, IL. I tried calling last night and "no phone service" (no surprise). And this morning I been searching the internet and found serveral pics. One taken on my one friend's street (area leveled) and another pic just a block away from my other friend. I sent emails just in case one has a Smartphone. I am sure electricity, gas, and phone are all down! Anxiously awaiting a response to know they are okay. I lived in Illinois for 10 years and observed a few tornados "at a distance". I can't imagine loosing your house and personal goods in a few seconds. Personal goods can be replaced, lives cannot. I hope and pray for the best!
  9. Out of likes but I agree 100%! One can tell alot about a vehicle by looking at the interior.
  10. Sad but true.
  11. I just heard about the tornado. I been trying to find out more info. Some very good friends of ours live in the area hit by the tornado (Washington, IL). That area is flat as a pancake. I read at least two (2) fatalities so far. Sad day and hope there are no more. Rob is west near Farmington...not to say he was not hit. Hope everyone is okay. UPDATE: I tried calling Washington and the phone service is down. I suppose there is no electricity either.
  12. oh no! Barry - have you ever ex-communicated or exorcised a BMT member? Seriously mhe9 - hope the truck is a good one.
  13. Would like to see a H mixer up close and personal, what a brute. Like the Mayflower Cruiseliner.
  14. Mark, thanks for the suggestion. I have on my list both Hershey and Carlisle (MOPARs in July) but never seem to find time to attend....maybe 2014. Both are about two (2) hours from the farm. I need to start planning the "show circuit" and marking the calendar for 2014.
  15. Pre-electric farm tractors were "hand crank" started. And many with electric start could be hand cranked. The crank provisions ended in the early 1960s. I remember my dad cranking our AC WC. My dad "lost" the original crank for the WC but a WD (different shape) worked. I would like to find an original crank for the WC. My grandfather's WD and C both had provisions for cranks although they were equipped with electric start. My Cockshutt 570 Super Diesel has an opening and claw on the front engine damper. I should would not like to hand start that beast. BTW, I never hand cranked an engine and hope I never have to. Early JD two-cylinders had a compression release on each cylinder. And they did not use a crank. You grabbed the flywheel (exposed) and used it to start engine. Some vids...in the first video at 0:06 and 0:38 is opening the compression release. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIjNH2ghdTA Another JD hand start video. This tractor does not have a compression release. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD-WQOoVeek
  16. Actually it is dirty in the picture. There are a few door dings in the driver's side. The worst part of the truck is the chrome. It is discolored and checked. It sat in a dirt floored shed all its life. The frame, etc. shows some light surface rust but there is NO body rust. I don't remember it being driven in the winter. I thought about paying someone to detail the truck.
  17. Thanks for the pics of your friend's Dodge. Does it have the 360? The truck is in "winter storage". I will clean it in the spring and take some more pics. The pickup has a solid bench seat (gray interior with no carpet), 4spd OD auto, sure-grip, A/C, and AM/FM/cassette. I have the window sticker at the farm, will scan and send. It still has the original tires but are starting to dry rot bad. I plan to get new tires in the spring. Also thinking about locating a set of the optional aluminum wheels which will likely be difficult. Even with the OD transmission, it only achieved about 15mpg on-highway....a real gas hog.
  18. The RS? If it had the original engine it likely would have brought more. I heard there was a frame issue. As for the green and white F, I thought the white F was nicer.
  19. Hmmm, that MH looks vaguely familiar. And where did you get that pic? I don't remember taking that pic....of course it is all I can do to remember what I did yesterday.
  20. Nice pics again Tom. Especially the bride and groom! BTW, nice boobage on the groom.
  21. I attended the auction today. The weather was decent, mid 50s and cloudy. Auction started promptly at 11a and ended just after 12noon. There was a nice size crowd of about 40 bidders and who knows how many Proxybid bidders. Several of the trucks sold to an internet bidder. I should have noted the bidder number to distinguish on-site and internet bidders. The V8 blocks/parts sold as a single batch. One of the blocks was originally in the RS700L. However, attached is the sale bill with the final selling prices and a few notes. I took some pics and will post later. FWIW, I did not buy anything except a donut.
  22. If I convince Barry to order six (6) of each, is anyone interested? I will commit to two (2) each.
  23. Looked tonight and the bid is $3399. Getting close to my "cut off" and still over a week to go. Don't go out of your way to look at the RD.
  24. Nice. Where is the video with SOUND!?!?!?!?!?
  25. I will see Barry next week and will mention this to him (if he doesn't see it before). Actually I may take 2 sets. One to install and one for backup. My saying is "one can never have too many back-up parts". Especially when they are getting difficult to obtain. Mine arrived boxed in heavy cardboard. Maybe I should open it and check the glass. BTW, who is farmer72?
