  1. gearhead....yea, right!
  2. Be careful Mike....sounds like a rookie like me would do something like this. And then climb out of the cab, look around, and say "WTF"!
  3. ^^^^^^^ what others said ^^^^^^ Thanks Mike...you and all other BMT members....Happy Easter
  4. Coolant filter (CF) or coolant additive filter (CAF)? Based on my information, if you use RED you do not need a CAF. One can use a CF if desired. Other "colors" need a CAF. I determined why my E7 does not have a CAF because the fleet used RED coolant.
  5. At the minimum you need a coolant approved for use in a Diesel engine. Although you have "dry sleeves", I would be hesitant about using a "standard" automotive (gasoline engine only) coolant. Just my 2 cents. A friend recommended Peak Final Charge Extended Life Coolant (red). 50/50 mix of most coolants will protect to -34F (-36C).
  6. Mike, Is it for sale? Does this sound like someone else on BMT? If not, any idea when and who to contact to "put my name in the hat". Perhaps get the VIN and I can have the Museum send me the specs. Thanks!!
  7. Anyone have a contact at Penn Township?
  8. I have a copy of WIN7 Pro that I can install. I made sure I "found" a copy of Office 2010 to install. Office 2013 is controlled by MS ($95/yr user fee) on your computer. Talk about big brother watching .
  9. I read the same thing yesterday (Tuesday). WIN8.1 Update is to be similar to XP. Many complaints that MS dropped XP. I also read the IRS is paying Microsoft several million dollars for XP support. F'in MS and their software crap. I shoulda bought an Apple. BTW, still working out "issues" with WIN8.1. Newest issue...downloading digital magazines (PDF). Nothing happens when I click on DOWNLOAD.
  10. Seen them on Fs and CFs.
  11. Saw this on eBay (slide only). Anyone have knowledge about this vehicle? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Susquehanna-Twp-PA-1987-Mack-MH-Swab-rescue-Kodachrome-Color-Slide-/371043858343?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5663eff7a7
  12. Sent you a PM. Thanks for the interest.
  13. Updated 08/24/2014 F (?) blower motor, NIB, pn 275152 7979 I have several other NIB blower motors. Send part number and I will check. As before, I am open to reasonable offers. Will ship (buyer to pay shipping) but prefer pickup at Gerhart's. Thanks!
  14. Seen wind turbines in orchards. Intersting anyway. Forecast for south central PA is 24 Tuesday night, 29 Wednesday night, and 33 on Thursday night (of course subject to change). There is an old saying, expect snow and cold until after Easter. Currently 73 as I type this message.
  15. Nice pics. I wonder if the MH is "available" for parts?
  16. B&D Transfer; Liberty, PA. Talked to them today (Wednesday) and they said several of their MHs were exported to Russsia. BTW, B&D is closing their doors on May 1, 2014.
  17. I talked to the original owner on Monday. He said it was a standard factory Neway suspension.
  18. NOS Mack mechanical tachometer (0-3200 RPM) with hour meter (17MT389P1??). This tach was not in a box and the trim ring is chipped. There is no legible pn on the back side. Make offer. Will ship but buyer to pay shipping.
  19. Looks like a Martin's MH in the background (roof mounts for the air deflector are visible).
  20. Nice pics as always. Not an IH but a Minneapolis Moline A4T.
  21. Standard battery boxes? Do you mean steel covers painted black? Based on my UPS MH parts book, the battery boxes are the same just not aluminum covers. I think the battery box base is the same as on the Superliner.
  22. Vlad, Looks like the RH cab air bag is GONE! Is the LH one there? Yes, quad headlight "buckets". Remove the round light and panel....the mounting parts for quads may be there. UPS MHs likely have single round headlights.
  23. Looking again at the MH and the PA inspection sticker...I think I know the fleet that originally owned it. I doubt if they have any documentation but I will check. And it likely had quad rectangular headlights.
  24. Nice find and congratulations!! Single headlights were standard on the early MHs but these are not in the correct location (at least here in US). If it is a 1991 model, it may originally had quad rectangular headlights. Do you know if the headlight "buckets" are single or quad? I have UPS parts book showing round headlights. I believe most UPS MHs had single round headlights. Not sure if the linkage is the same for a Fuller tranny but I have parts book showing linkage for Mack tranny. I will scan it and send it to you.
