  1. Since you've studied this why won't a system of free market competition driven healthcare work? If the government sets a fixed price then why would there be much if any drive to produce a quality low priced product? When the government started interfering with the healthcare system prices went up and quality of care went down but yet more government is the answer? I just cannot see how. We lead the world in clinical trials and medical research which is then used by other countries to improve their health systems (link here ) with the government in control we could loose all of that which would definitely be a big set back to the world. Our system isn't perfect but more taxes thrown at it has never and will never work. Sorry didn't mean to go off on a tangent but since dads become a politician I've become much more involved in this stuff.
  2. And Good luck on your job search Joey. Brother ran a grader for our county for 7 years before he realized that it wasn't for him. The older guys there had been doing I that for 30 years and got nothing out of it besides a broken back and a broken mind. Some retired old guys would come back and clock in before they were told that they retired 5 years ago and then they would remember. Don't let them break you
  3. I don't see how people can honestly think that more government intervention in our healthcare system will make anything better when government intervention has caused all of these problems to begin with. Everything the government becomes involves with because another politician power funding money grab. Why can't our healthcare system work like everything else and have companies compete for your business? It's worked before and prices have subsequently gone down.
  4. I always's wondered why there wasn't more Ch613 sleeper cabs. Was it cost or was there something wrong with them? Looking at auctions its at least 1 sleeper Ch for every 50 day cabs.
  5. War era fire engine? I need to see pictures of this! The wooden stuff will all have to be made or found at a garage sales. Don't know about the carb.
  6. On a more serious note I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a 2 valve or a 4 valve is a deciding factor on a truck. I loved our 4 valve but from what it looks like the old 2 valve has some more bark to it. With the 4 valve I guess it would probably be easier to find Jake conversion parts for it if you want. Any more thoughts?
  7. Cumaparts you call them huh? Well the Big Cam at least looks ok
  8. I wonder where they rented the porta potty from in the background
  9. The people who have got it after they got the shot say it's even worse than if they hadn't. If your body builds the antibodies to it its better than any vaccine or medicine. Also does anyone ever think about what would have happened if the scientist in china never found or died before word of the virus even got out? Would anyone really have noticed? I think we all can remember a time in school or work when almost the whole staff got sick but once we got better it was fine, if that was the case then couldn't we have just done that and not tank the whole entire world? just a thought
  10. The main enemy to them around here is the road grader or the occasional cow that gets out and thinks its a scratching post. 30ft combine headers can hit them too but that's usually my fault and no one else's. Also my goodness its green over there! It already looks like its winter here with the grass all being brown already.
  11. If you have a clean garage and a buddy with all the specialty tools you could attempt to do it yourself. They're simple motors compared to what we have today but I'd definitely find some technical ligature on it. This video makes it seem real easy! If only in a perfect world in a nice clean shop with the motor out. Even if you have someone else do it this video really helps you get on the same page with your mechanic. Also does anyone know how to get parts from PAI? I'd imagine you would have to be a dealer or something but could you register an account for a farm or other small business types?
  12. Is that an auto tranny that's on it now? What did this thing come out of?
  13. does it have the 11 bolt SAE bolt pattern that an Eaton would have? I know the t-2000 series of transmission's do but I don't know about the TR series.
  14. Wow what a looker! Did they put in vinyl floors? I don't think Ive ever seen something like that before.
  15. Old thread but this thing is way to cool. I came across a video about it and let me down a rabbit hole of trains and fire engines. Don't know if it was stated before but the company that made the pump Deaval also made cream separators. Our family retired our Delaval and put it in the museum, now we just wait overnight and let the cream separate by itself.
  16. Points and or a bad fuel pump can do that too. Nice to get it all back together!
  17. I don't think they ever sold Moline's in Australia but I know Olivers and before that Hart Parr's were very popular down there. My great great grandpa sold Hart Parr's and we still got some advertising they sent him. One ad told of a Hart Parr they ran down in Australia for 9 days and 8 nights to break a world plowing record back in the 1920s. Tough machines
  18. There Is a road boss a couple of blocks from me. I see it run a couple of times a year but it doesn't interest me very much, White killed Oliver and Moline back in the 80s and as a big Ag guy I still hate them for it.
  19. Good to know! Had an Mh that surged and bucked horribly when it wasn't under load, maybe the governor just needed to be rebuilt
  20. Did he pass on or has he just not been on in over a year? Ive messaged him but have never got a response. Sucks I joined too late I never got to meet him
  21. Im pretty sure the Air compressor is driven from the injection pump so it will have to be removed. I'd say if you take the governor off without the rest of the pump the rack might be Impossible to retime
  22. Compression test and injector test. You can send them off to someone who knows what their doing but if your cheep and stubborn like I am I'd rig up a tester yourself. There are several articles about how to turn an old hydraulic pump jack into one or you can buy one off amazon for a reasonable price. When testing you're looking for 1. Spray pattern, I have a great video that explains what your looking for here: Next your looking for injector cracking pressures, its best to find a book describing what these pressures are but if you can't its more important that there within about a 5 to 10 pound difference between injectors (the less difference the better) Not too sure what brand of injector Mack uses but I would imagine its the same brand as the pump, there may still be kits available and you could rebuild them yourself if you have the proper specs and your wife doesn't mind the smell of diesel fuel in the clean house. Injectors might not be the problem but their old and its something to look into on older diesels, well balanced injectors make a world of difference.
  23. Who's really the stupid ones here? We can make oil from natural gas and gasoline from coal. I mean its almost never stated how the Nazi's got there gasoline for there airplanes, the answer is coal! If we have enough to burn underneath a town for 70 years than there's no reason for us not to be refining into gasoline if crude oil is sooo hard to find.
  24. I know someone on here was telling about an 80s Mack with an automatic, there rare for sure! I know that the UPS truck's had some weird transmission trickery but Im not sure if it was an automatic or not.
  25. I guess its running good...
