94 Mack ch613/E7 won't restart after it gets hot
BOBWhite replied to Brianpcp's question in Mack Truck Q & A
I've got a few diesels that sometimes act like this. Vaperlock is the best way I would describe it, only that can't really happen on a diesel. In all of them Ive seen there seems to always be a problem with the fuel line or air getting into the fuel somehow. Try clear line between the fuel filters and injection pump and look for bubbles if you get desperate. One of the trickiest problems to diagnose on a diesel. Best of luck -
I get why people speed shift but they're not usually the one's who have to pay the repair bill. Manual transmission trucks are going away for that reason. So please, shift with care and enjoy it. To me its just as fun and rewarding.

3 more months until this mutt has her calf. Breaking it to milk might be fun. I might have already posted this somewhere but I've never seen an 855 detonate like this before

Me and dad about bought this today at an auction. It went for $1,900 but it's too long of a frame for us. Plus with a 5 speed probably wouldn't be enough gears for what we want to do. Bought this instead for cheep. Our old 110 volt air compressor just isn't enough anymore so this 220 volt should be better.

Probably wouldn't be a good idea in the long run. If It did work you'd be putting a lot of stress on a cam not meant be pushing twice the valves with a different variation and possibly timing. You probably could bore out the 2v block to accept the 4v cam but It would be better to just keep the 2v heads.

I wanna know the story behind that sign... but at the same time do I really wanna know?

150 Posts already wow. Whats the deal with hydraulic master and slave cylinder rebuild kits going extinct? And even if they are out their good luck finding them in the right size. Especially for the import or companies that don't exist anymore like International harvester. Why is It that I have to spend at least $400 bucks to get new wheel cylinders for my Toyota LandCruiser when rebuild kits for em would be $20 total. Why do I put myself though this?

Egg prices are no joke. We have 3 chickens but one is molting so only 2 eggs a day, still worth it to keep chickens and don't have to worry about feeding them with free range and a good dog. Milk's 5$ a gallon too just as our milk cow's drying up. We bought a gallon of milk today for the first time in 2 years.

I believe he is correct ^ Dynatard specific cam, beefier push rods, and different rocker arms and shaft. Theres probably more things like oil passages that aren't there on non dynatard engines that I wouldn't know about.

We went through the same thing with my grandma last year. Whenever we'd visit and she'd forgot who her grandchildren and children were and even be scared of them it was the same feeling. This form and others help keep my mind off the morbid stuff.

X15 might just be the last great motor there is. I haven't read about too many major problems and it seems like the emission systems finally figured out. I truck with that motor is a great investment.
-
The most frustrating part of it is 99% of these accidents can be prevented with a proper pre-trip. Lazy drivers are a menace to society...

Adapter kits can be found to adapt the old pipe thread plug holes to new smaller plug designs but those never looked right to me. If you can find some two piece plugs that aren't in that bad of shape those are what I'd go for. Ebay's got some just don't pay exorbitant prices for em.

It didn't work for me. It wants me to have a dealer account. Is there anyway you can save the bulletin?

This guy here? Whats the story on how your truck got into this video? Who approached you and did you get anything out of it? Apparently the music video of this went missing for awhile and camera quality's not all that great.

I hope you don't mind but here is a video so everyone can view it: If you want me to remove it for any reason let me know

CH613 EA7 410 using coolant no external leaks
BOBWhite replied to Magilla's topic in Engine and Transmission
If the oil didn't seem milky then that probably means it just hasn't been stirred up yet. Oil floats on top of coolant so you won't be able to tell by just checking the oil. Could be head gasket, cracked head, or a busted liner but I think it's best if you pressure or vacuum test the system. -
There's a pretty cool Vacuum fill coolant tool that you can pick up on amazon that does the job the best. You can keep the whole system under vacuum overnight to see if there are any major leaks like head gasket or air compressor also. When you drained the coolant out the second time was it sludgy, black, or seem like combustion gasses had been getting into it? You can send in a sample of your coolant in and have it tested to see if you have to pull the heads.

Not to derail here but if you have or have access to a newer iPhone they have a scan document function that makes real good digital copies of books and manuals. I've done a few with my phone that turned out great. Looks like a lifesaver of a book to have, hope you figure something out. Thanks

A RedDot conversion would be cool to see on an Mh. Probably a whole lot better too.

Swapping e6 engine into e7 truck
BOBWhite replied to Xboxburke's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Gauges do sound pretty hard if you want to do them right that is. I'd image the the speedometer and tach are both electric if there not they'd most likely be in the wrong ratio. Electric tach's aren't that hard to install and are cheep. An app download on your phone and a phone mount will take care of most of the speedometer problems. When you're young and dumb enough you can swap anything you want to. Keep up the good work and don't let us get you down. -
Allison diesel Engine? Photos
BOBWhite replied to realwolfdaddy's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
That looks like a DT466 to me but what do I know. Never heard of an Allison Diesel either but my grandpa worked as a supply yard in Japan during Korea and him and his team somehow lost one of those giant Allison engines. Never found out what happened to it and his superior was pissed. Too big to steal so they think it's at the bottom of the ocean. -
Small schools usually aren't any better and in my case it was much worse than a bigger schools. 3 overpaid a*s wad superintendent-principles ruined not just the school but countless young lives from ever going to a big collage, including me and my 2 brothers. I go to conferences and hear about the classes and opportunities the kids in bigger schools get and it's just not worth it anymore to send kids through a rural program. I don't care what they make e'm learn just let them choose the path they want to take in high-school instead of wasting there time on government required BS classes. Our Education system is one big joke. Boils my blood just talking about it. And get this, the solution is not to throw more money at it! Can you believe it!? it all goes into the administrators pockets anyways.

Both of our John Deere tractors had their clutches welded solid by previous owners. Makes for a loud time if you're outside the cab. Anyone ever adapt an air engaged fan clutch like a Horton onto a Mack? I've driven a few vehicles with air engaged fan clutches and there awesome. Flip e'm on whenever you're going down a hill to save your brakes.
