  1. Midliners were really good trucks, heck, 20+ years ago when i worked at Mack in Maine, the parts were hard to get and those that came in, came frome France..
  2. I didnt know they were without power, and dont know why either.
  3. Roof light wires, dont plunge the hole.
  4. I bet its about the single axle.. i havent looked yet.
  5. Not sure what thin heads means, they are ususally reusable if they pass inspection, did new valve seals get installed? Also, i hope you have the liners held down with bolts and big washers, while you are rotating the engine. Also are you checking the height of the liners? Liner protrusion.... Did you pressure test cooling system with heads on and oil pan off to see if you had any leaking liners? Forgive me with all my questions, but i have seen what happens when these preliminary steps arent taken..
  6. JC. Looks like they got the boobs right.
  7. I like the twin sticks, and the revolver cylinder knob..
  8. Ok.... If you didnt mark the plugs on the rear you can easily get the crank sensor and cam sensor swapped. They are the same plugs. (Bad design). I have made that mistake a few times. It will be hard to start. There a 3 plugs back there that are the same, 2 of them cam and crank can reach to each others sensor.. Try to swap them. My guess is the interior puzzle is back together ?
  9. That parking picture is so true..
  10. Yes sir, thats pretty light. Im going to go with this add on will work for him..
  11. Yes, i expect more damage later. However i think he has tried to keep the rears straight, i like to think he is not beating his truck.
  12. Mech,, would believe that I have actually lined up camel backs and WELDED the torque arms once i had the right length.. only did a few, but i did 'em.
  13. Too late mr. Hollywood.
  14. Mech, his current carrier does not have the 4 threaded holes on the back for a rear bracket. Theres no more eyelets on top for the ball and socket type.. If im reading you correctly
  15. You cleaned the frame below the front cab mount, right?
  16. I worked on a few of those when i was a new guy. It think UPS used them and the post office too. I think in MH cab overs.. all i remember was the gaskets for the bell housing and starter, which i think was air start. And i think the oil was dexron 2 tranny fluid..
  17. Im right there with you Mech... I remember how hard it was to park my horse drawn buggy, and get in one of those new fangled Ford machines, i didnt know where to put the feed bag.. My how times have changed...
  18. Mark, the city is buying automatics because the drivers dont know how to drive a manual. Sad..... Their words not mine
  19. It may have been an 880 that i drove.. anyway, i would happily drive it again. My truck of choice is a late 90's Ford they have, and only because it has an 8ll transmission. All the others are automatic..
  20. Mark? It seems to me that KW is currently making a dump truck that is superior to a Mack. Am I reading this right ? We have a T-600 (i think) it has an Allison 6 spd. I drove it on site for a day and was impressed by how smooth it operated, and was also impressed by all the switches it had , especially the axle controls for traction. Locking rear and a locking power divider. It happened to be after a lot of rain and the red dirt down here is like grease. I did not get stuck. I know for sure i would have got stuck if i had an auto power divider.
  21. Im out..
  22. Oh.. ok.. I guess this is the older post about the torque arm.. that makes sense. A re-Mack rear rear is around $2500.00 ish, plus labor. Thanks for getting me back on the rails GW.. hi
