  1. Well..... At least we have each other here...
  2. yeah, kind of a safe bet.. I always ask dumb questions, because every once in a while, the 'poster' doesnt know what he has.. I wonder how aggressive the pressure washer guy was? whats the chances he blew the 2 plugs of the posts in the jake spacers??
  3. do you have an injection pump or 6 EUP's?
  4. It's Double Clutchin Weasles Birthday.. 🎂
  5. Mech,, I have a box of old tools that may just have what you know to be a fire ring cutter.. this box is full of bars and pins and cutters.. I remember using some of it to check run-out on E-6 flywheels.. I have a full day tomorrow, but I hope I remember to spread the tools out and post pictures, and you can tell me what I have. Good chance I will hi-jack this thread... or may start an ''Old Tools'' thread.. Jojo Sorry TJC,,, still talking about 'me'., again...
  6. There are WAY too many ''Feelgood '' stories about how A.I. is the solution to the issue at hand... Bull Sh!t !!!!!! WE ARE FU#$%ED !!
  7. Oh my.... I'm sorry about this.. 🙏
  8. any free or cheap books would be great,, the last 3 of these ASET engines that I built, I was able to buy all of the parts from a PAI vendor.. Less than half price. I was at the very last customer last sunday and asked about his truck.. He said it runs great and pulls hard.. I did the build in June of 2022.. I have used PAI on about 20 engines, and have not had to re-do them.. so dont be leary of this brand.. Others here are familiar with PAI, and can give you opinions.. Jojo
  9. JoeH,, the valve adjustment procedure is different.. he has Power leash.. Jacobs 690 is a different adjustment procedure.. If it is not done correctly, and he has ceramic rollers back in the engine, 30 seconds after he starts the engine, he will be right where he is now..
  10. rotate the engine and watch each lobe.. I thought I saw scratches in the 3rd to last picture.. since this engine ran away for a bit, it may have shattered the rollers but shut down before cam damage happened... (My wishful thinking) Jojo
  11. i'm sorry.. if you fix this, i suggest getting cam kit with steel lifters... I would strongly suggest new H-Rings.. all 12... there are 2 oversized H-Rings available.. Do you have an E-Tech engine book?
  12. I have a local truck parts store that keeps the buildable fittings in stock.. No one else does..
  13. you dont have too,, of course starting on #1 for any reason is always a plus,, you do know that just because the pointer is pointing at 1&6 on the flywheel, doesnt mean you are up on #1.. you could be up on #6.. theres an easy way to tell.... also, in order to see the cam at #3+#4,, its best to remove the oil pump. the torque on those bolts is 35 lbft..
  14. heck I have 13 feet of frame behind the cab... Just sayin..
  15. I think it would be a cool local truck to take to the grocery store, or Dunkin Donuts for breakfast... If I ever get my '48 on the road, thats what im gonna do... Sorry TJC,,, I did it again,,,
  16. Yeah,, I got busted by GADave, in one of my post about a blown tranny,, or something like that.. and now I gotta look behind me to see if TJC is there too.. It's great to be loved...
  17. I knock them out with an aluminum pipe, I check the end of the pipe often for chips that may come off. A wood broom handle may splinter.. you knock them out from the bottom, and install from the top.. if you end up doing cam bushings you will need the driver and handle.. I have all the tool numbers at home.. I buy from freedom racing, Tillman tool, and Monaco tool co. They sell Kent Moore spec'd. tools, jojo
  18. Now I have a complex... Thanks TJC.. here's one for ya, I have no clue what that part is... So there..... 😘
  19. Keep doin what your doing.. if a lifter broke, there will be pieces, when you drop the pan, if it comes down to a cam and H-Rings, we got you covered.. Jojo
  20. I am not a fan at all of using ether on a diesel.. You may need to drop the oil pan and inspect the cam and lifters...
  21. I took a look... looks like you go to the home page and scroll down to subscriptions.. I do see a $50 membership posted. I know that I have made several $25 donations... but honestly... $50 isnt hard to part with here, given the content of this site and all the members that are here to help... just my opinion.. Jojo
  22. sweet... these dont run like a Cat.. or John Deere.. I think that's called ''overlap'' .. there are a lot of us that can guide you when the time comes.. your engine requires ALL adjustments made / cylinder, in the firing order.. engine brake and exh. lash are done backwards.. no biggie, when the time comes let us know.. Jojo
  23. yes, when the valve is not being opened by the cam.. with respect... how well do you know how to adjust the valves?
  24. as far as making room for attachments... make a $25.00- or more,, your choice, donation to BMT... you will get a bunch of data space, and help this great website,,, just sayin'.. now, as far as the pushrods/top end.. when the time comes to run the valves.... it IS Crucial that you follow Macks guidelines.. if you dont and the valve train chatters,, your screwed.. that engine has ceramic lifter rollers... I hate them.... keep in touch, step by step... Jojo
  25. I think it's funny that ''end racism'' + ''inspire change'' are painted on the NFL fields, a sport that has more non-white millionaires than I can count,,, When are Biden type, a-holes are going to accept the FACT that non-whites have been successful people for decades upon decades, and that ''Whitey'' aint keepin' em down.. Non-whites have been able to accomplish great things in this country.. Hell, I'm a slacker compared to many of them.. anyway, The Biden types that keep this B.S. alive are the problem... See what I did there??
