  1. Beautiful C and a junkie Donald Duck in the background.
  2. Hideous grill Looks like you can get a glider or complete truck.
  3. KS: Come back to the states and take charge at Mack. And bring the Superliner/Trident with you. Too many poisonous snakes in OZ.
  4. KS: I like your comment about who would they turn the reins over to as all of the top management at Mack are probably Volvo guys. Teamster: Maybe disposal would be a good thing. It would have to be someone with a nationwide distributer network like Cat Deere etc. If a deal was made some of the Mack dealerships would have to be part of the deal. Wish in one hand and cow poop in the other.
  5. I guess the new Scania boss is not taking the Volvo reins off of Mack any more than the last bean counter did. I guess the bottom line is Volvo does not want to get pounded in the market place by the green haired step child. Didn't want to offend any red heads.
  6. Wouldn't extended hood be easier. Extended cowl seems like it may screw up the dash/fire wall area. In order to keep things simple such as the very front of the truck steering, axle, radiator etc. It seems that the cab could be moved back along the frame a bit.
  7. I agree with Jarhead and Teamster. Companies that used to Buy Mack for heavy haul now go to Paccar. It then trickles down to the dumps. In Connecticut examples are Gateway O&G and Tommaso.
  8. Crane Carrier cab looks like the old Brockway cab.
  9. I have seen an RB and RD dumps converted to water trucks for them before. They were at Joseph Equipment.
  10. Mack's super truck 2 ( Volvo engineering design) coming shortly sports a: !970's FWD or Dodge cab over KTA 600 or 12 v71 engine (Choice of 2300 or 2500 RPM) 5 speed transmission (no overdrive) Super flotation tires standard on tri drive Rear end ratios 4.70 - 7.70 Triple frame Preliminary MPG's is a closely guarded secret Volvo, Daimler, Navistar and Paccar are said to be quite worried
  11. Thanks for the eye candy. Love those D Rounds Macks.
  12. That is a kick ass RD model. Any more pictures
  13. Wow that makes 55 Granites. Maybe the Paccar stranglehold on Ct is starting to crack. Maybe Tomasso, O&G and Gateway will give Mack a new look see.
  14. Pretty soon you won't be driving the truck sitting down or standing up. You will be laying down in the sleeper while the automatic pilot tries to avoid a crash and steers you over a cliff.
  15. Not a fan of Europe's cabovers but this latest Argosy is a beautiful truck. Which gets me to thinking, where do they sell these trucks besides Canada and the US (occasionally) Does Daimler sell these in Europe? I would think they would push Mercedes there.
  16. Were the 605,672,673,707,711, 676,E-6 and E-7 blocks all basically the same. I think the 711 was bored out slightly. I think the E-7 was stroked and the bottom end beefed up.
  17. KS Do you think the Scania V8 will ever end up in an international Chassis. Would be nice in a Mack but that's too much of a stretch.
  18. Back to KW heavy haul I guess.
  19. The newer Granites seem to have longer hoods than the originals.
  20. KS to the rescue on those early Mack diesels.
  21. Wow in your company colors also. When I was a kid growing up in Illinois those L's were all over the place even after the B's were introduced. Seems like a lot of them had Cummins power.. How are the Granites working out?
  22. Volvo- Sell Mack to Scania. Mack would get the V-8 back along with Scanias inlines. Scania would get access to the conventional market in the US through Mack. Scania Mack alliance reborn. Still would rather have a US company buy Mack however they would probably dump them down the road as is the case with American capitalism. No long term loyalty.
  23. Load looks like a steam generator for a nuclear plant. Just when they started buying Mack's, Volvo pulled the rug out from under them.
