You can get up to 23,000 # fronts on a Granite but they just don't seem to sell much as tractors. -
Noticed on the Mack Defense web site that the Titan is still offered as a Heavy Tractor. Probably don't have to meet the BS emissions regs. When is the Pinnacle going to offer a heavy duty front axle? 14.5 K doesn't cut it for a lot of applications.

If they keep the Anthem I would think they would have to offer an axle forward version like the current Pinnacle. If they don't they will be the only manufacturer without an AF. (Granite excluded)

I was on the Mack website and I noticed that they took the Mack Bulldog off his high perch and recessed him for more air flow. Come to find out his balls were overheating and the Mack engineers took care of this. This is the latitude that Mack engineers are allowed to have under the Volvo leadership. I will have to admit the Mack lineup is currently pretty impressive. Hopefully the Mack Pinnacle CHU AF will not be on the chopping block.

Anthem looks over Pioneer any day! And don't drop the Pinnacle until you have a suitable ( so called long nose classic) replacement. The current Pinnacle is a good looking truck.

Were there common engine blocks for various Mack engines such as: 672(Lanova)-673-711(707 gasser)-675(Maxi) 675(Maxi)-743(stroked) 531(gasser) 707(gasser) 864-865-866-E9 Was the 743 block Mack's or Renault's Was the Mack big six a one of a kind block- (should have stuck with developing this and dropped pursuing the V8's) although the E9 was eventually a good engine, all the other manufactures had success with the inline sixes. Detroit was an exception with their successful V series (emissions got them in the end)

From what KS says this is one hell of a truck! He ought to know! But they still need to change that grill and headlight area to make it look more like a classic Acar.

The only thing the Mack engineers had to get right on this Volvo Pioneer was to get the grill right and they F'd it up!

I like the reference to the continued Anthem. Hopefully with an axle back and forward design to replace the Pinnacle.

Well the new Mack is out and it is called the Pioneer. Volvo clone with Mack hood and grill. Should have placed the Mack logo in the center of the grill instead of the bottom. I like the looks of the Anthem better. The pioneer will have a much improved interior I guess. Rumor has it that the Pinnacle axle forward will be dropped. Mack will not have a competitor in the long hood market leaving the likes of Paccar, Daimler and VW the lone providers. This would be a shame. The Mack Pinnacle axle forward is a good looking truck in my opinion. They are seen all over the Boston area.

That was the earlier LJ cab I believe. Not sure if that was an Orville design or in house. Orville I would guess.

I remember seeing a Diamond T 921 RB as a kid back in Illinois. What a beautiful truck! I was always curious as to what the RB stood for. I know the 921 was a pretty standard heavy highway model. It did have the set back axle.

When they went from the G to F they should have kept using the Aluminum cabs. There would be alot of F's around today if they were aluminum.

Real beauty. Looks like the colors of that Canadian company that folded. I can't think of the name. Also the former Lindon Company out of New Jersey
