  1. Is there a Scania V8 option in Navistars future?
  2. Actually saltines may have been a better choice for cab material. They must have been light weight.
  3. Trip on I 395 and I 495. Noticed a lot more IH's on the road of the LT variety. Cutting into Freight shacker's dominance. Mack presence in bulk haul was quite noticeable. Saw quite a few Mack Pinnacle axle forwards more than Western Star and Kenworth. Peterbilt is still dominant. The only Mack Anthems I saw were for the Market basket food group. Mack granite and Paccar 880 & 357 seemed to be split about 50-50 Saw more Mack LE and MR's than Pete 320's. This was a totally scientific observation. Ha Ha.
  4. S Screamin Jimmy
  5. Is that Bernie Sanders opening the passenger door. Looking for the solar /wind engine.
  6. I used to to that when I was 9 years old I could do Detroit, Mack and Cummins,☺️
  7. What was the new truck and why no lika?
  8. Don't you get it union members-Management is not kidding when they say they are going to close shop. They have been doing it for the last 50 years and they are good at it. They will take what is left of the assets and you are out of a job. Be reasonable with your requests (not demands). Live to fight another day.
  9. White Motor lost a lot of momentum when they bought Reo. They were after the Reo v-8 gas pot when every body else was going diesel. Remember the giesel not a popular household word in the truck world. This concept might make a come back in today's EPA pollution control environment.
  10. I used to see R and U models in Ct. right up to the end.
  11. Some on here want to keep this location secret. I can't say I blame them. I saw it on google maps from a clue on this thread which has since diserpeard. The authors have the right to edit. I don't think anyone would object to your doing some old fashion detective work looking at truck salvage yards around Allentown or Macungie. That's all I have to say about that and I hope I didn't step on anybodies toes.
  12. Loved the sounds of those GMc V6's
  13. sad to see NEMF go they had some nice equipment. They kept a lot of U and r models alive as in the above example.
  14. So one from Hallamore and one from Gerosa. More like cousins than brothers.
  15. Good looking COE from the front view.
  16. Now that's a diesel that makes sense. Individual cylinder heads for better gasket compression and if you have a valve train problem you may only be dealing with one cylinder. And 35 more HP than a Volvo D13.
  17. Blackdog: Thanks for the update on the 2 brothers. They came from Hallamore not Gerosa. Makes sense since Gerosa was mainly an Autocar and White user although they had a big M model Mack at one time.
  18. Looks like that IH was built to Haul the Mack/Volvo Granite dumps when they break down.Just kidding. I understand the Military does not require pollution control junk on the vehicles.
  19. I believe that was an ex Gerosa Mack It was painted red and black in Portland CT for Marino Crane. Barnhart bought out Marino Crane of Portland CT. This beast had an Identical twin which was also painted red and black in Portland Ct. for Marino Crane.( I witnessed the paint jobs) Not sure where the twin ended up.

  21. Fjh: I guess you are referring to the Granites with the plus 4 inch cab as opposed to the Cl. I guess they are both Mayflower cabs.
  22. It looks like mack B's never came close to Whites coup cab 92 inch BBC. That was there big selling point. I believe the white A cab 9000 was also 92 in BBC. Those were cramped cabs.
  23. Grrrrrreat news for the Michigan boys.
