  1. Where Odds and Ends begins, political correctness ends.
  2. Code should go inactive if it’s fixed.
  3. I love a happy ending!!! Most of the issue around here is alcohol. People drink like fish when they get up North on vacation. Don't know how to act. They treat the southern half of the state as a place to go to college and do business and the Northern half of the state as a place to act insane. The people at the regional hospital who serve our south bound flight-for-life shipments refer to our town as "Trauma-hawk" instead of Tomahawk.
  4. That stuff is universal. Every week during the summer I can get a Walmart bag of empty beer cans/bottles out of my ditch line. Recreational war zone. I've nearly been hit by flying 36" mud tires, coming through my tree line, from the highway. The summer riff raff comes north and none of them are pre-tanned, they're what I like to call "Untrained Urban Rednecks". Suppose if I was down south I might see a pattern, but the riff raff up here is fully integrated.
  5. Only issue we have with Mobil is their sales strategies. We’re stuck with them because of a national account agreement and Mobil is vendor abusive. The 1500 is being sold for about $8.35 a gallon per contract, so the price is good, however they can’t keep vendors. Mobil is soft when contracting on to a new vendor then they begin to choke hold them early in the relationship. They may first agree to 60% market preferences, but after a year they examine the vendor to see if Mobil replaced the other in-house brands through attrition. If not......Mobil then requires the vendor to convert all lubricant vending to Mobil Brand only or lose the franchise. Our last two vendors told Mobil to “Stick It!”. Now our vendor is hours away. They were not doing well as a business so taking on an overbearing Mobil dist was fine for them. I cornered the Mobil salesman and engineer about running out the good vendors. They said “can’t have a salesman wearing two hats when selling our products”. I asked them why Volvo Blue Can is only sold by Mobil? Mobil makes a replacement oil for all the other OEM oils except Volvo. They hee hawed a bit and Salesman said “We make Volvo’s OEM oil, we won’t blend a replacement against their OEM sales”. Mobil listed 424 as a replacement for Volvo axle lube, but spit out a fake disclaimer that said you have to change the 424 at half the normal drain intervals of OEM Volvo oil.......both of which they make. It’s the same oil rebranded to a blue can! The politics are thick and sick with them.
  6. JZ, hit up your local Mack dealership for a quote. They have the program in their system to pound out SRT (standard repair time) and parts fast. Hard for us to know what the going rate is around your area.
  7. Last one we bought for a couple hundred from Manders Diesel. Used. + shipping.
  8. Swishy, your a real gentleman for not saying 30.48 CM of cold snow and confusing us.
  9. Fine. It’s popular in many circles to use conventional oil on break in new engines then a switch to synthetic. Conventional's weaker lube character does better than synthetic for mating new metal.
  10. Good looking draw Wilbur 👍🏼. Your in charge of your fleet, but I also prefer Mobil Delvac. Mobil has oil perfected.
  11. Spring frost is unpredictable. Plus, guys get sloppy after 5 months of frozen-rock earth. They spend the winter months driving on lakes and crawling heavy equipment over swamp bogs. Highway limits come in. Park it. Forget it. Meanwhile lava’s chipping away at the bottom of the frost column and Sun is chipping at the top. Little rainfall to make a thermal bridge and ~plop~, the extra week of frost you counted on is gone.
  12. Same here, BELATED!!!! 🎂 🎁 🍰 Uncle Sam might need a drone to track your movement North. All those guns plus military equipment caravanning up the coast, to a remote compound, has the local brass worried about a possible militia mobilization.
  13. Condolences, Lord rest her.....
  14. Hope it doesn’t smell like rotten eggs when it charges through a deep cycle..... libs & huggers will want to put an emissions system on it.
  15. Fix sensors and see if derate goes away.
  16. If your batteries get too low the ECM may go quiet. Not sure what the threshold voltage is, but I recall Cummins use to be high, like 10 volts or lower is a no go.
  17. If you zoom in you can see the flange of the torn off pad down in the earth. Left almost peeled.
  18. It’s a symptom, check the software level. I’ve leaned on Mackpro in the past. He can usually tell what you have.
  19. I was going through a shoe box of old photos and found two great candidates for the beautiful catastrophe series on 35MM film. This one is from the Mack Dealership. One of the mechanics brought in his daughters car for some after hours repairs. We came in that morning and the customers loaded chip trailer was fine, no one recalled it having a list to the right? Doors were open on the shop, weather nice, not a single person heard it fall on the car. When I took the pic the ground had already lost moisture and frost had dropped out. The customer cut the trailer open, scooped the chips out and scrapped it. Co-workers plans to fix the Chevette were put on hold.....indefinitely.
