  1. From the album: TRUCKING ACROSS THE U.S.A.

Only here in the good ole U.S.A. can a person rise from humble roots to be anything they can dream of. Only because young men and women are willing to give up comfort and home and family to defend that freedom in our armed forces. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OUR SOLDIERS, SAILOR, MARINES, AIRMEN, AND COASTGUARDSMEN WORLD WIDE.
  2. From the album: TRUCKING ACROSS THE U.S.A.

This was the last axle that hadn't been rebuilt and I also needed S-cam bushings. No biggy got it all squared away at one time.
  3. I think both guys are right, if you have a good reliable truck I would stick with it. I have talked to alot of Mack mechanics at differant shops when I,m getting my Vision serviced and they all say the same thing. ANY of the E.G.R. Mack engines are junk......that hurts to say but the truth is the truth. 03 and newer have the E.G.R. (exhaust gas resurculation) B.S. installed. Good luck. I am thinking of just having mine rebuilt before she gets to long in the tooth. Matt
  4. Thanks for the links I enjoyed the video's but didn't see any snakes.... just kidding. Keep the dirty side down and keep on trucking. Matt
  5. the article on the 610 hp E-9 was from the fall 1997 issue and the marine E-9 nad the army E-9 both appeared in the summer 1997 issue of the Bulldog. Sorry it took so long to respond beeen out on the road sometimes working sometimes sitting around waiting for the next load. I was actually trying to reply to heavyhauler....I'm not sure I know you can only go back to 05 at mack.com..
  6. JerryB I heard that the Horton fan clutch for the later model Macks were p.o.s. be careful. Horton started using china made bearings and the increased heat load on the E.G.R. engines caused alot of problems. I saw for myself one come apart on a peterbilt out in arizona while it was parked at the Petro in Eloy AZ. Went through the guy's radiator. If the behr isn't giving trouble I wouldn't mess with it.
  7. How tall is the truck? I have been getting up to Ct. alot here lately and have friends who work with me who have step deck trailers and I maybe purchasing a new one myself in August. Currently I have a flatbed that stands 5 ft off the ground. AS long as the truck isn't over 10 feet 6 inches one of my buddies could haul it. However it would have to go through my company Cardinal transport out of Coal City IL. because of insurance and of coarse the D.O.T. I would love to help btu will warn you ahead of time Cardinal can be a pain in the butt. Best of luck.
  8. Maybe they are dummies but atleast they Know The Greatest Name In Trucks . Built like a Mack truck means something weeellllll unless your a v##?? executive....... Well morons come in all shapes sizes and pay grades.
  9. Otherdog I know you have to drive a Pete-of-trash but do you have to torcher us by making us look at them Matt
  10. Speaking of new tires...I had just about wore out all my drive tires and trailer tires....I mean the D.O.T. would have locked my butt up and thrown away the key if they had seen what I was riding around on. So I've been working what little bit of butt I have off to get some decent tires . But as my luck would have it I didn't get them free....hhhmmmm tell us again how you pulled that one off Rob. Did you have some dirt on the ole guy? Just kidding Matt
  11. Hello 3-P of coarse there is a Mack in the new Transformer movie Mack is the greatsest name in Trucks..Seriously there was also a Mack in the first movie or at least a Mack chassis. The Buffalo mine clearing vehicale rides on a Mack chassis. The buffalo is the one Optimus prime nailed with the sword in the big battle on the interstate in part one. To see pictures of a "Buffalo" check out issues of The Bulldog mag volume 2,2005. Everyone you can still download this issue at www.macktrucks.com. Matt

Awsome..To see the articles just click on my gallery and look for the E-9 gallery..enjoy. Matt
  13. Welcome on board Fuel Mule,we're glad to have you. I never drove a Road Boss but I did have the pleasure of driving a 1979 White Road Commander cabover...we drivers called it the Road Commode. Our boss called her The Hornet as the truck was an old Ploof trucking truck and was green with puke yellow strips. I tell yah she road a hell of a lot better than any frieghtliner cab over I ever drove. Matt
  14. From the album: Bad Job Sites

I had just unloaded and was pulling out when I got hemmed in by this loader that was in the process of moving this old car. I took video of it opening the trunk and knocking off the wheels and tires. This was hands down the Nastiest jobsite I have ever been to. I have no idea how I had any tires left when I finally got out of there. What a mess. The mud had oil and only God knows what else in it . I had to repolish all my rims after this little adventure because the acidic mud was so deep it got inside all the rims. Streaking the aluminium rims very baddly.
  15. From the album: Bad Job Sites

This job site is located near Axis, Al. and was a lake of soft slimy Alabama red clay mud. I litterally was pushing mud with my truck's tires. This huge crane was sitting on a platform of huge timbers to prevent it from being sucked into the mess.
  16. From the album: Bad Job Sites

I 'm not sure what they were building but part of it was down in a pit. How it didn't get swallowed up in the mud is beyond me.
  17. From the album: Bad Job Sites

No those are not super singles on my wagon just the mud that got packed in between the rims. The load I had on was to be unloaded at a differant spot than the other trucks in line so my guide made me get off the drive and go through the soup to get to the right spot....almost didn't make it but the ole dog came through and finnaly they got the wagon unloaded.
  18. From the album: Bad Job Sites

The drives did'nt get as packed as the trailor. Thank God however it took awhile to clean the truck up that weekend.
  19. From the album: Bad Job Sites

I just had unloaded and noticed that the truck had sunk a little while I was being unloaded. When I tried to back up to turn around she broke traction and there I sat until they brought up e dozer and pulled me out of the ruts. From that point I had no more problems.
