  1. Thank GOD she has air ride. I drove cab overs the first five years I drove...man those things will beat hell out of you with out air ride. I have always loved the look of these trucks. Good luck Bro.
  2. I agree 100% with that too. You should have seen all the crap the COPS did to the citizens of New Orleans and area after Katrina rolled through. Makes you wonder if it is still the GOOD OLE U.S.A. sometimes.
  3. I can't help you with this problem just wanted you to know that we are reading your post. Good luck.
  4. Sometimes I wonder who is worse COPS or Criminals. At least with criminals they are Honest about robbing you and you can shoot the S.O.B.S....Cops on the other hand....
  5. Ok everyone. Other than the engine you CAN still get an all MACK drive train...including air ride, front axle , drivers, tranny, ect. I think Dana manufactures the drivers for MACK but the design is all MACK. Please take the time to check out www.macktrucks.com and all their sites. They have sites for Titan Granite and the CH.
  6. RowdyRebel I agree 100% with you on that. My company got hit by FMCSA last year and is telling us that any work performed on the truck has to done by an ASE certified shop and it has to be documented for our monthly maintenance sheets. So I just leave them blank. That really pissed them off. Now they tell me I must put something down every month. I said It is a and it don't break. Dumb ass F.M.C.S.A. IS GONNA DESTROY THIS INDUSTRY!!!!! All these years I have done most of the work on my truck and trailer and last year alone it passed 5 D.O.T. inspections with flying colors.....SO some one please tell me WHY I need some bozo to work on my truck if The DOT has certified it safe to operate 5 times in one year???? Texas, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Dakota and Tennessee all passed the truck and trailer in 2011. Only TX. and KY. gave me the stickers though. The rest of them just gave me a dirty look when I asked Where the heck is my sticker....jackasses! P.S. I haven't gotten into the new year yet it seems. I had to edit this comment because I still put 2010 for last year.
  7. You can now get MACK rears in that ratio and taller...WHY would you want anything else??? Aluminum? Saving weight is one thing but Durability is another. Sorry but my MACK pride was bruised. Nice ride.
  8. If you want to know how smart Obama is just take a look at Who He chose for Vice President.
  9. THIS WAS THE BEST OF THE BUNCH. LMAO MATT
  10. I do the same thing most of the time but I have found a few MACK dealers who don't have the filters in the box. I let MACK know about that when they sent out a customer service questionnaire. Can you imagine going to a dealer (Robert's International/Volvo/Mack) and they don't have All the filters. No Centrimax oil filter and none of the fuel filters...If memory serves. I had to tell them about how my local dealer has them all boxed up specific to the engine. Their parts guys probably thought I was high on crack. Oh well. If I have the time I Let MACK do all my P.M. so I have a record for the company so they don't whine to much. They got HAMMERED by the F.M.C.S.A. this past year. F.M.C.S.A. = SS or maybe the GESTAPO or maybe the K.G.B.. I can see a day when a driver runs over a nail at a job site gets to a scale with a low tire and they shoot him/her in the head. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
  11. Glad to hear you did ok last year...been real slow my way since Thanksgiving too. I need to call ole Joe. Heard he went back to local work. I hope the freight picks up this year. I did ok last year but still hard to find GOOD freight.
  12. Well fellas I ain't a dirt slinging kook but I am a tarp, strap, and chain slinging kook...does that count? Been awhile since I have been on. No lap top and out on the road a lot this past year. Makes it hard to stay in touch.
  13. Yes the Truck is doing good she has 1,076,000 mile on her now. It was a pretty descent year but as usual the freight nearly stopped in December. Doing good though. How have You and Otherdog been?
  14. Mack Doctor Jr. contact Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association better known as O.O.I.D.A., they can help you with the whole process. From insurance to permits business plans everything. 1-800-444-5791 or www.ooida.com . Remember this when you put that truck on the road IT IS A BUISNESS. Not a toy. Have an realistic Idea before hand of it's Fuel economy, Preventive maintenance costs, Tires, Tag, Permits, Insurance, ect. Then you have Quarterly taxes to the I.R.S., Yearly heavy road use tax(2290) ect. I imagine that since you went to a bank to borrow the money to get Her up to par that you were required to have a business plan and that is good. If you need help call O.O.I.D.A. They have helped me a whole lot and Advice is free. Good luck Brother.
  15. Thanks Rob..it's been awhile. Been trucking and doing stuff on You Tube.
  16. If you can lay your hands on the Maintenance and Lubrication manuals for your truck they will be a huge help. I know they have come in handy more than once over the past few years that I have owned my CX-613. Keep a spare for every light In the truck including Head lights, Stop, turn and Marker and for the dash, an extra 30/30 brake chamber, pan cakes, oil, coolant, fan belt, and anything else that your gut tells you to have handy. Shops charge up to $120.00 an hour these days and doing it yourself (If you can) beats the heck out of letting the truck stop guys have it. Extra fuel filters, Filter Wrench and Nitrile gloves are a must also. Oh and FORGET getting your MACK serviced at a TA they NEVER have all the filters...NEVER!. Petro or Speedco or a GOOD dealer are much better choices. Best of luck to you. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
  17. The only bad thing is there are very few Mack dealers in the Dakotas. Needed an exhaust elbow for my Vision the last time I was up there...no luck they didn't have one in stock and it seems they told me it would take atleast a week to get it. Got one when I got to Texas.
  18. Please describe the noise if you can. A dropped valve will be internal but I can't tell you if you'll be able to tell with the valve covers off only. rhasler is right about the cam too...Mack used ceramic cam followers and if you don't run an overhead (adjusting the valves ) every 65 to 75 000 miles it will damage a cam lobe...ask me how I know. Good Luck
  19. I've seen probably 5 or 6 Titans on the road. several on I 20 near Birmingham Al. and two out west. I think I was on my way to Denver when I saw them and a bunch of Rawhides.
  20. You guys made my points for me about how crappy vovo has made Mack. I hate to hear about it, read it ,or see it. Mack has always built the truck to the customers needs...not now with the euro idiots in charge.
  21. Dude better not go to commiefornia Lol. They would impound the truck and throw away the driver.
  22. I didn't know that another company was building AUTOCAR. Good deal. I recently was looking around on the web for pictures of an old 50 something model "Needlenose" KW for a friend who became a life member of O.O.I.D.A. and got a nice life member jacket and wanted a picture of an old needle nose to put on the back of it. While looking around I found some great pictures of an Autocar AF 64 highway truck..very nice. Looked like a cross between a pete, a kenworth, and a western star. It was an old brochure and as I read it it said volvo....man what a nice looking truck. What a shame that everything volvo touches turns to mush. I recently compared the engine warrenty info for my old 01 Vision to the engine warrenty on a new MP8 engine and was shocked. Look it up yourselves, the old E-7 had a comprohensive engine warrenty. The basic warrenty covered block, bearings, cylinders, pistons ..ect for 3-years 100% PARTS AND LABOR. The MP warrenty 12 months..... P.O.S.!!!! I have read a few of the posts on here from guys with the newer trucks and some of them are leaving MACK because of crap like that. If VOVO is so much better WHERE IS THE BEEF??????? Electrical problems...sure I and everyone else on here knows all the new electronic engines have there problems. However I have heard on here and out on the road of wiring harness problems including having to replace the instument panel in some of the vomacks.. I have 1 million miles on my 2001 MACK Vision and have had 0 electrical, injector,or sensor problems with the truck. I want to believe that vovo is going to be good for MACK but everytime I hear about crap like that I just want to find an old R model Superliner or pre vovo CH and forget about a new truck.
  23. rhasler..It keeps popping up because we the customer do not like to be lied to. We the customer want REAL MACK TRUCKS not a generic pile of scrap. I have been to a few dealers in 2010 and after every visit Mack sends me a survey to fill out about customer satisfaction. I fill it out and I tell the truth. If the dealer put the screws to me I tell'em, if the dealer took care of my problem and do so in a timely manner I tell'em. Because I own an 01 Vision I don't have warranty issues so I can not attest to that but some dealers do a great job and some suck. I went to a dealer out in Kansas for an oil change and they didn't have Mack filters and didn't have ALL the required filters. I let MACK know..but I also told them that the service department at the dealer bent over backwards to find the correct filter...however they had no luck so I had to pick one up and install it later. If they will Listen to the customer about our needs and wants and Honor their commitments with warranty issues Mack will survive and thrive, But the use of JUNK PARTS gonna lose alot of life long customers. Mack to me and most other MACK customers defines quality....volvo does not.
