  1. Havent done nothing to the sick puppy yet.My plan right now is to let the mack garage have first crack at it. I guess just to make sure that everything is what is suppose to be.I called a local diesel performance shop and talked to a guy.He said he wanted to see truck first but said injectors would probably be his first step. I also seen the steinbauer module(Illinois Dyno Center )also has one.I know a guy who says he knew a guy that had module in his truck(didnt know which one) and he said the truck ran great . But thats all i know right now
  2. I also had same problem on 95 cl e7-427.The sensor that operates my fan is on front of water manfold. It has two screws that conect the wires to it instead of the plugs like the two that are towards the back.I changed the sensor, and the fan solenoid, never fixed it. The two wires on the sensor one goes to the solenoid(mounted on the side of radiator on mine) and the other goes to the big ground bolt right under the starter.I took the one that goes to the ground off and ran a new wire rght to the negative post on battery.Fan works properly now,I dont know about when I start running the AC,havent tried that yet.
  3. I havent been on here for awhile to check all the replys(thank you everyone for your info),I did get a chance to stop at Mack garage yesterday just to make sure all the updates were on it. The service manager took my VIN and got on the computer to see what was put on it . He told me it has all the power its going to get . He did say about hooking it up again and reloading the computer,is this worth while or are they blowing smoke up my a**? When you guys say about calling PA im guessng you mean headquaters in Allentown.Whats the phone number and who do you talk to? would love to get this puppy running better. Had a P.O.S. Cat truck pass me today climbing a little hill. How embarassng
  4. thanks for the advise, I think I'll take it to mack first just to see what they come up with, and go from there. Im really hoping on getting it to run alot better so I can keep up with them peterpuffers!!!
  5. I just bought a 07 granite with the AI 460 motor in it and I'm not impressed with the way it runs. My other truck is 95 CL with E7 427 and it will eat the 07 for breakfast. I've haven't took it to mack garage yet to see if there is anything they can do to it , but when you first start out or changing gears it is a real pooch. Its like you stand on fuel pedal and it doesn't take off it seems like for 2 or 3 seconds and when climbing some good hills by the time it wants to take off your already finding another gear. I was looking at a tuner made by Steinbauer, was wondering if anybody tried them and was it worth getting , or whatever else makes them run a lot better. thanks for any help.
  6. I have a 95 cl 713 tri axle with e7 427 motor, my problem is my fan clutch will kick in and out speratic. I mean you can be going down the road and it will all of a sudden start kicking in and out constantly, then it will quit for a while and you can hear the air solinoid up there exhausting . It will do it with the AC on and off.I have changed the air solinoid that is mounted on the side of radiator, changed the thermo switch that screws into the water manifold, and checked wiring harness out as good as I can without really knowing where to look and cleaned ground wires up. I did unplug the hi and lo switch on AC part and they work like they should. Now it seems like it only does it when you are giving it throttle ,doesnt do it when at idle ,and it isnt overheating when it does it ,and one more thing when it does this it will cause my CB radio to make a lot of static. I have been F***ing with this for over a month, cant keep belts tight and had to put new mount bushings in alternator because the hammering of the fan kicking in and out like this.Went to mack garage to get fixed .they acted like they dont even want to work on it . Any suggetions will be greatly appreciated . .
  7. I am switching my wheel style from dayton(spoked wheels) over to hub piolited ,and I was pricing out new alluminum rims. The rims alcoa told me I needed was A 985601 part number its rated for 8000lbs per wheel cost $350.00. I was playing on internet and seen these wheels called Forgitron, and there new wheels only cost $270.00 . I was wondering if anybody has heard of them and maybe have a set of there wheels.
  8. I Have 95 e7 427 , I get about 34 psi, I can get my pyro up to about 1100 if I let her lugg down to about 1300 rpms ,but as soon as it hits 1100 , I grab a lower gear . I also run with a guy that has 99 rd with the 460 . he has the thirteen speed and his runs really strong . So I believe your air cooler has a leak or you got something else going wrong
  9. I have 95 cl 713 with an e7 427 motor, fan keeps running . I already replaced the air solinod thinking that would probably be the problem( worked before about 5 yrs ago ). I have no electric at the plug for the solinod. The wires of course go into a big wiring harness so unless i cut the wrapping which I dont want to do hard to trace where they go. I image it goes to a temp sensor ( there looks like there is 4 different ones) and then up to the firewall to one of rhe pins (which one I have no idea). Any help anyone can give will be appreciated . If not I go to mack garage(the dog pound ) tommorrow evening and hope they can look at it.
  10. Hello there everybody. My question is Im looking into buying a 07 Mack Granite CV 713 . It has a AI 460 motor, 13 speed ,4.30 gear ratio, and it is air ride . It is a good looking truck but when i drove it seem really sluggish compared to my truck now which is 95 CL713 with E7 427 motor, 13 speed , 4.64 gear ratio and camelback suspension . Antways I got the VIN off it ,took to my local Mack garage just to have them tell me whats all been done to it . Its had 6 ECM put in it and 2 crossmembers. The service manager there told me I was nuts for wanting to trade my truck in on these newer trucks. He told me that anything newer than an 03 are junk the computers cant take the heat, will not get as much power or fuel mileage that my 95 does. He said you cant turn this truck any to et more power out of it . So my question is ,have alot of you had problems with granite , or the AI motors . I love my CL . It has 750000 miles on it ,motor never been tore down and runs great . Im just wanting to update but not if im going to buy a truck that less reliable then the one I already own.
