  1. biggest difference between an australian r-800 and an us rd-800 is in the hood and fenders. an rd-800 has a deeper hood with lower fenders while a r-800 has a shallow dm-800 style hood with higher hung fenders. Unlike a dm-800 the fenders are closed in on the front so they appear to fit the tire where a dm-800 the tire is falls toward the back of the opening.
  2. I bought a set from Australia. They are beautiful.
  3. I tried a set of those. Had to return them. They have two bolt holes centered instead of the four holes that the b model handles have. I bought a new set of b model specific reproductions from tylden heritage and installed them today. They work flawless...
  4. Do you need to take the interior access panel of to change the exterior handle or can you just unscrew the two screws on the outside and take it out.

  6. Does the b-61 style floor mat from watts fit in a b-81 cab with the lower floor pan?
  7. you can still get those new from mack
  8. Trucktoberfest is in Allentown at the customer center and museum. The factory where they build the trucks is in macungie
  9. I get the functionality in the cities, but that tractor could use about 3 feet of length between the cab and tandem.
  10. Continental spreads it around. They are still buying Mack’s.
  11. I believe you have incorrect information. Joe is correct, your r686 was built with a maxidyne 300. Your r688 likely had a 12speed transmission and your 686 likely has a 7 speed.
  12. Fuel tank does not resemble a B 30. also the front axle is to heavy and the tires look to large.
  13. There was no place for it in their lineup. They put their eggs in the V8 basket for big power. Unfortunately, economies of scale come into play in production and more offerings equate to higher prices all the way through.
  14. it appears to have the dark gray interior that would make it at least an 85, Mack on hood is definitely 80's. older style vertical louvers on radiator would rule out late 80's or 90's unless it was swapped. It is really tough to say for sure because really any of it could have been swapped. my guess is 80's though
  15. my guess is that they are long gone........
