    The back of it sorta looks like a great grandfather to a '63 Vette. That Dodge with the welder looks like it's not far from driveable, let alone in fantastic shape overall.

    He had a song years ago. It was Froofie or roofie the dog or something like that. Who knew it was inspired by starting fluid. On a serious note, sounds like this dude's truck for some reason has no fuel pressure without some RPMs

    I think there was a special ether called Roofy brand he used. Must have been one of those old ones that you could seat a bead with .

    I was think'n '30s I believe stuff like that was in the Art Deco period . It reminds me of some of those tankers and beer trucks from back then.

    There's not too much in those pictures that doesn't have potential. All very interesting stuff......even that thing that looks like a torpedo or something that I have no idea what it is.

    Ether is a tricky thing. if metered in properly it can be a cold weather starting aid. Just sprayed in recklessly ??? the engine can easily be running out of time and to uncontrolable RPMs if anywhere in the intake is loaded up with it. So yeah, it can get out of hand if not used sparingly . Some old Cummins engines, when they became worn and hard starting in lower temperatures it would seem as if they wouldn't start without it (addicted) most likely the engine was a combination of worn out and cold. Most guys would sooner forget about how things were years back compared to starting diesels now.

    Really. I get the truck was worn out and all, but it really did take a lot of abuse . Went way farther than I expected it to.

    Could be leaking after your EGR cooler too.

    I too have seen these on mixers. Maybe in really cold climate (like you'd be pouring concrete there in the first place) a smaller HP engine might benefit from it on a cold start cause there's less fuel at full fuel throttle position ??? It'd have to be pretty cold to need it. A Mack engine in anything much above fair condition usually starts easy in the cold.

    Just curious , did some genius just hack into that for the trailer brakes ? It's pretty tough to try and determine what might have actually been done to that truck.

    The term "caging" is referring to the parking brake part of the air chamber (spring brake) if you try removing the air chamber on the truck with the parking brake on and the spring not caged the chamber is going to be spring loaded and as you loosen the mounting nuts the chamber is going to be trying to extend the rod . !!! This is a good way to get hurt !!!

    How about in Connecticut this morning ?? same people that were BLM'n with all their might today were basically waving signs around say'n "kill the unborn" somehow through the breeding process ?? seems the stupid always make it .

    Those FROs are fairly easy to come across. They're no where near the cost of 18s or 8LLs , and most guys will part with them for very little $$$
