  1. Volvo took over what was left of White when the company was failing . Around the same time ( a little later ) they took over GMC . They referred to the trucks as "new family" or something like that. By the early '90s all of them left had that Volvo style cab and usually had grilles with the slash (!!! not the curly haired guy that plays the guitar !!!) Then it was all Volvo...... then in the early 2000s they started the take over of Mack. What next ?
  2. I have a sneaking suspicion the "big guy" is a funny look'n fella with big ears and a big mouth..... calls people "folks" a lot and is now quietly serving his third term as president somewhere
  3. Yes. Ironic that happening to White after they bought up everything in their path back then, then it happened to them. Out of all of them that were made and in service over all the years, they are a rare sight today. Seems more chances of seeing a General than an old Road Boss.
  4. Smaller ? White was huge. Back even into the earlier "80s you couldn't go a day without seeing one. I meant the actual truck in the video. That was a fancy truck as Whites went.
  5. I kinda wonder what ever happened to the White. Easy to forget how handsome they were when they were dressed up a little.
  6. Didn't Macks usually come with Haldex on them in that era ? Gunites are junk...but usually work until they're backed off at least. I don't have much faith in any form of gold brake chamber either. There's differences in those two pin clevises too. Is that miss matched ? Also wondering about the suspension. Is the bushing wiped out in the spring eye ? Does the truck have aluminum hubs ? if so, are they rotted ? SO hard to figure from texts and not looking right at it. Just a side note on the Gunites. It's worth loosening the air chamber from the mounting pad so as to back off brake adjustment, then after removing drum turn the adjustment on the Gunite slack in the adjust direction to get it back to where it needs to be with new shoes and drums. At least they still work if you only adjust and not back off it seems like to me anyway. (lol) some nice Gunites, some cheap gold air chambers and those new RSD shoes, makes for one fine stopping truck
  7. Was that by any chance when all this started ?
  8. IDK this one is another one that makes you wish you were there. The little pin looks funky. Is it the right clevis ?? picture looks almost like a welded on clevis. ( IDK why, I can't zoom in on the picture ) I'm starting to think something with that air chamber.
  9. Sometimes when someone changes a air chamber they just measure what's sticking out of it and cut the new one to that length which may not be correct, then nothing there works right. That chamber doesn't look very old. Did this issue start after that was replaced ?

You don't have an MP 7 with two valve covers. Or a 2005 with an MP7. just in case you search somewhere else for info.
  11. Still no looking at pilot pads on hub ? Interesting point about the air chamber too. Any of those good ones usually aren't a very good product.
  12. 😇
  13. I can send you another picture of her if you'd like
  14. This post may be a trap by john kerry or aoc. Careful with responses .
  15. I noticed the return springs too. Not sure what I think of them, but they have me think'n
  16. When ? seems to me anyone in a position to enforce existing law (s) refuses to do so. The double standard of application of law has been shown time and time again.... why would anyone change now ? If anything they're more emboldened to keep on keep'n on. Meanwhile all the other crazy $h!t just keeps getting crazier. Like hunter suing for invasion of privacy or what ever ( and he's gonna win ) At least they're finally going to revisit those pesky water wasting washing machines (again) This administration is taking us right to the 10th century and too many people are loving every minute of it.
  17. Could be a nice high quality Chinese drum too
  18. Something still has to pilot the drum on the hub. If it is the drum though, Paul's idea would indeed work.
  19. Give those journals a little polish job before you're done cleaning. Don't let anyone talk you into any bearings other than tri metals.
  20. Hey.....remember, he may be Irish, but he's not stupid. (and I'm out chase'n snakes with a dude named Patrick)
  21. Drum's not round for some reason. Is it an aluminum hub ? If the pilot pad is rotted there's nothing to pilot the drum weather it's new or in good shape. If you're at the point of throwing parts at it ? drum and linings on that wheel end.
  22. Unreal. Yet it's happening.
  23. That's the part they're looking for. Not the tie rod. These were a treat back in the '90s even. YIKES
  24. The two fruit cakes on the ends actually make kim ung dung's haircut look good...... and manly
